Overview

A Web3 Lifestyle Revolution

A Web3 Lifestyle Revolution: STEPN, at its core, is a Web3 lifestyle application that integrates game and social elements, making everyday movement not just beneficial for health but also rewarding in the digital space. As a trailblazer in Web3 lifestyle product, STEPN distinguished itself by securing the 4th position among 500+ contenders at the Solana Ignition Hackathon 2021, marking a significant milestone in bringing the concept to life.

Earning Through Movement: By equipping NFT Sneakers, users are encouraged to walk, jog, or run outdoors, earning game Tokens and NFTs in the process. This innovative approach not only incentivises physical activity but also offers users the flexibility to utilise their Tokens and NFTs within the game or convert them to other forms of tokens.

A Mission Beyond Gaming: Within its gamification foundation, STEPN aspires to inspire millions to embrace a healthier lifestyle, contribute to combating climate change, and facilitate seamless integration into Web 3.0.

Getting Started

To start, users need to download the STEPN app

  1. Download the STEPN app: Download from App Store or Google Play.
  2. Sign-up for STEPN: Once the app is installed on your device, you can sign up using your email address. You will receive a verification code to enter and gain access to the app.
  3. Create a new Wallet: Tap the Wallet icon in the top right corner of the screen. The app will generate a 12-word secret phrase, crucial for recovering your Wallet if you uninstall the app or forget your password. Important: Note this phrase down and store it in a secure location that only you can access.
  4. Purchasing SPARK with Apple Pay (iOS): Use Apple Pay to buy SPARK, available in the in-app Marketplace.
  5. Transfer GMT into your in-app Wallet (iOS/Android): To buy NFT Sneakers in the Marketplace, transfer GMT to your in-app wallet. Keep some SOL/BNB/ETH in your wallet as well for transaction fees.
  6. Purchase a Sneaker: Head over to the Marketplace (in-app or m.stepn.com) and chose your Sneaker! Utilise the Filter tool to find a Sneaker type that suits your preferences.

Congrats! You are all set. After the purchase of a Sneaker, Energy will restore at a rate of 25% every 6 hours (Fixed at AEDT Time 00:00, 06:00, 12:00, 18:00) You can start your STEPN journey immediately after the first 25% Energy restoration.

Sneaker Types

Sneaker Types

There are four Sneaker types, for various exercise intensities and fitness levels:

Factors affecting GST returns include Sneaker Efficiency, GPS signal, and randomisation.

Sneaker Levels

Users can level up their Sneakers by burning GST, with GMT being required at certain milestones. Each level-up takes a predetermined time, increasing with the Sneaker's level, as well as the amount of GST and GMT needed. Accelerating this process is possible by burning additional GST.

GMT is required for levelling-up a Sneaker to Level 5, 10, 20, 29 and 30.

Upon levelling, users gain 4 - 12 additional Attribute points to assign according to their Sneaker quality.

At the maximum level, users must opt between earning GST or GMT, with the ability to switch between the two.

Sneaker Attributes

  1. Efficiency (GST Earning): A higher Efficiency Attribute leads to better GST earnings per Energy spent.
  2. Luck (Mystery Box): Luck determines the frequency and quality of Mystery Box drops.
  3. Comfort (GMT Earning): Comfort impacts HP decay rate and GMT earnings.
  • HP < 100%: Sneaker cannot be listed on the Marketplace or transferred.
  • HP < 20%: Sneaker won't provide Energy in that Realm.
  • HP = 0: Sneaker cannot be used.
  1. Resilience (Durability/Repair)

    Resilience affects the decay rate of Durability. Higher Resilience will result in a slower Durability decay. The higher the Sneaker's level or quality, the higher the repair cost. Durability decreases during an activity, affecting GST/GMT earnings efficiency at specific levels: 1. At 50/100 Durability, Sneaker's GST/GMT earning efficiency drops to 90% 2. At 20/100 Durability, Sneaker's GST/GMT earning efficiency drops to 10%

NOTE: Moving above or below Optimal Speed will yield sub-optimal returns on GST/GMT and Mystery Box.

Sneaker Qualities

There are five Sneaker Qualities. When a Sneaker is minted, its Attributes are randomly determined within minimum and maximum values, leading to diverse distributions even within the same quality category.

Rainbow Sneakers

Rainbow Sneakers exclusively earn GMT.

All Rainbow Sneakers are Trainers (1-20km/hr). Similar to Common Sneakers, Rainbow Sneakers contribute to the user's total Energy (<20% HP will cease to provide Energy).

Unlike other Sneakers, Rainbow Sneakers do not possess Efficiency, Luck, Comfort, or Resilience Attributes. They start with a full 100% HP, which is not restorable and decreases with Energy usage. A Rainbow Sneaker becomes incapable of earning GMT once its HP reaches zero.

Each Rainbow Sneaker is equipped with four slots for Rainbow Gems. However, removing these Gems results in their destruction.

The Rainbow Sneaker does not have Minting Function, nor Level up, or Repair. Rainbow Sneaker can only be sold or transferred when the HP is 100%. Rainbow Sneakers cannot be used in Sneaker Enhancement, and can’t drop Mystery Boxes.

Rainbow Sneakers only have two attributes, Rainbow Power and HP.

How to Receive a Rainbow Sneaker

Through Enhancement, currently only Common and Uncommon Sneaker Enhancements have a chance to result in a Rainbow Sneaker. The chance of an Uncommon Sneaker Enhancement to receive a rainbow is 5 times higher than that of a Common Sneaker.

Rainbow Power

  • Higher Rainbow Power results in higher GMT earning efficiency.
  • Only Rainbow Gems can increase Rainbow Power further.

HP Every 20% reduction in HP results in a proportional reduction in the total Rainbow Power (Sneaker + Gem):

  • HP ≧ 80% = 100% Rainbow Power
  • 60% < HP < 79% = 80% Rainbow Power
  • 40% < HP < 59% = 60% Rainbow Power
  • 20% < HP < 39% = 40% Rainbow Power
  • 0% < HP < 19% = 20% Rainbow Power
  • HP = 0% = 0% Rainbow Power

Minimum Energy

The Rainbow Sneaker has a minimum Energy consumption requirement of 6. Using the Rainbow Sneaker with less than 6 Energy will lead to an HP reduction as if 6 Energy were consumed.

Genesis Sneaker

Genesis Sneakers have IDs starting with a "G", followed by a number between 1 to 20,000, meaning that they have a limited supply. Genesis Sneakers may be found across different STEPN Realms.

OG Sneakers

OG Sneakers are distinct from Genesis Sneakers. Unlike Genesis Sneakers, OG Sneakers lack the "G" prefix, and are allocated with specific number ranges between 20,001 and 60,000.

Special Sneaker Skins, obtainable through Enhancement and Marketing events, are categorised into two types:

Skin Retention Rules During Enhancement

When two Sneakers with permanent Skins are used in Enhancement, only one Skin will be retained on the resulting Sneaker. The Skin retention follows this hierarchy:

  1. ADIDAS skins and MOOAR x STEPN skins
    • These are always retained first, regardless of event context.
  2. Permanent Skin of the lowest Sneaker ID
    • If no skins with special priority are present, the Skin on the Sneaker with the lowest ID will be kept.

Gems & Sockets

Gem Types

Users can enhance Sneaker Attributes by inserting Gems into corresponding Sockets unlocked at certain Sneaker levels. There are four Gem types, each representing a specific Attribute:

  1. Yellow: Efficiency
  2. Blue: Luck
  3. Red: Comfort
  4. Purple: Resilience

Socket Types and Qualities

  • Sneakers have four Sockets for Gems, color-coded by Attribute type.
  • Sneaker’s Attributes are boosted when a Gem is inserted into the matching Socket.
  • Sockets unlock at Sneaker levels 5, 10, 15, and 20.
  • Higher quality Sockets amplify the Gem's effect.
  • While Socket type is visible pre-unlock, its quality, influenced by the Sneaker quality, remains hidden until unlocked.

The Socket quality is influenced by the Sneaker Quality:

Rainbow Gems and Sockets

Rainbow Gems can be inserted directly into a Rainbow Socket to increase the Rainbow Power. There is no quality for Rainbow Sockets. Rainbow Gems cannot be used for further upgrade.

Upgrading Gems (require 3 Gems of the same category) might yield a Rainbow Gem at the same level (for instance, upgrading three Level 1 Efficiency Gems could result in a Level 1 Rainbow Gem).

Removing Gems from Rainbow Sneakers will burn/destroy the Gems.

Minting Scrolls

Minting Scrolls allow users to perform a Shoe-Minting Event.

  1. Minting Scrolls have five qualities, that matches the Sneaker quality.
  2. Minting Scrolls can be found from Mystery Box, although it is not a guaranteed drop.
  3. Minting requires 2 Minting Scrolls, 2 Vintage Sneakers, GST and GMT.
  4. The Minting Scrolls need to match the Vintage Sneakers' quality.
  5. Minting Scrolls are permanently burned after use.

Note: Minting Scrolls are in-app asset and cannot be transferred to Wallet.

Achievements & Badges

The Achievement system is designed to offer users additional challenges. Upon completing these challenges, users are awarded an Achievement Badge. This badge serves as proof of achievement that could be used for future airdrops and offers various perks.

Achievements

Achievements, along with their associated Badges or Titles, will be continuously introduced in future seasons. Some of them come in five qualities, each defined by specific completion criteria.

NOTE: If you have an earned but unclaimed badge, and then purchase the same badge, the 'unlocked' status of the badge will reset, meaning you will need to re-earn the badge. To avoid complications, please refrain from purchasing badges you have already unlocked.

Types:

There are two types of Achievements, giving different Achievement Badges:

  • Individual Achievements: These are awarded for reaching specific milestones. Badges obtained from Individual Achievements are non-tradable, with the exception of Lucky/Unlucky badges.
  • Meta Achievements: Awarded for completing a series of Individual Achievements. Badges obtained from completing Meta Achievements are tradable.

Acquiring achievements

Achievements are not automatically granted once a user meets the achievement criteria.

  1. Once the achievement criteria are met, users can acquire the Achievement/Badge/Title by spending Achievement points.
  2. Users accumulate Achievement points through the consumption of GMT.
  3. A variety of Achievements can be obtained without the need to spend Achievement points.

Buying Sneaker Background

Achievement points can be used to purchase a Sneaker Background. To do so, simply tap the Background emplacement from the Home Page to enter the purchase page.

Game Module

Shoe-Minting

Shoe-Minting Event (SME) is a feature where users utilise two Sneakers as a blueprint to "breed", creating a Shoebox. These two Sneakers, referred to as Vintages (Parents), must have full durability to perform a SME.

To initiate an SME, users go to the Mint tab, select a Sneaker to “breed” with another, and press Mint. A Shoebox is instantly received and can be opened right away.

A Sneaker can be used in up to 7 SMEs, with the cost increasing for each additional SME based on the individual Vintage's SME count. Costs for both Vintages are calculated separately and then combined for the final Minting Cost.

Shoe-Minting has a 48-hour cool down for both Vintages – Sneakers can still be used for movement.

The first two SME cost the same. There is a chance to get an extra Shoebox during Minting. More Minting on a Sneaker increases the chance for multiple Shoeboxes.

Shoebox Quality is influenced by the Vintage Sneaker's Quality:

Shoe-Minting Variation

Sneaker Attributes are randomised based on Quality, independent of Vintage's Attributes.

Enhancement System

By burning GST, GMT, and 5 low quality Sneakers, users can either get a higher quality enhanced Sneaker, or a Rainbow Sneaker.

The enhancement results in a Sneaker with attributes that are 20% higher than its original min/max parameters.

Enhancement rules:

  1. Sneaker ID: The enhanced Sneaker will inherit the shortest/lowest Sneaker ID from the five burned Sneakers.
  2. Sneaker Type: The Type of the enhanced Sneaker will be randomly selected from The types of the five burned Sneakers.
  3. Gem Socket Types: Each Gem Socket type on the enhanced Sneaker will be chosen randomly from those on the five burned Sneakers.
  4. Sneaker Skin: If no permanent Skins are used, the Skin of the enhanced Sneaker will be randomly selected from the current Skin repertoire available in the app. If a permanent Skin is used, the enhanced Sneaker will inherit the permanent Skin. Special Skins may be included during Skin events.

Special Chances:

  • There is a small chance for the enhanced Sneaker to increase by two quality levels (e.g., upgrading from 5 common Sneakers to 1 rare Sneaker).
  • There is also a small chance for the enhanced Sneaker to become a Rainbow Sneaker.
  • Enhancement odds example: Using 4x Walker and 1x Jogger Sneakers, the chance of obtaining a Walker is 80%, and a Jogger is 20%.

Fusion System

The Fusion System allows users to potentially enhance all four base attributes of a Sneaker (Sneaker A) by burning another Sneaker (Sneaker B). The key requirement is that Sneaker A's quality must be equal to or higher than that of Sneaker B; Sneaker B's quality cannot surpass Sneaker A's.

As a result, if attempting to improve an Uncommon Sneaker A with a Common Sneaker B, Sneaker A retains its Uncommon quality but benefits from improved attributes of Sneaker B.

Attribute Improvement Mechanics:

  1. When B's attribute exceeds A's: The new base attribute for Sneaker A will be a random value between the base attributes of Sneakers A and B.
  2. When A's attribute exceeds B's: The base attribute of Sneaker A remains unchanged.

Examples of Attribute Fusion:

  • Efficiency A = 16, Efficiency B = 28: After burning B, the new Efficiency for Sneaker A could be any randomly selected value between 16 and 28 (e.g., 17, 20, or 27).
  • Efficiency A = 18, Efficiency B = 16: After burning B, the Efficiency attribute for Sneaker A remains at 18.

Gem Upgrade

Upgrade Gems in the Upgrade tab by burning GST and combining 3 same-level, same-type Gems into a higher-level Gem. From Level 4, GMT is required for upgrades.

Note:

  • Gem upgrades can fail at lower levels, resulting in lost Gems.
  • Gems are in-app asset and cannot be transferred to Wallet.

Warning: Gem upgrades from Level 1 to 5 have a failure risk. Failed upgrades result in lost Gems.

Awakening Effect: Enhances Sneaker's Base Attribute. For example, a Level 2 Efficiency Gem boosts a Level 0 Sneaker with base Efficiency of 5 to a total of 15, factoring in both the gem's Attribute and its awakening effect.

HP System

HP, or Health Points, represent the condition of a Sneaker. A freshly minted Sneaker starts with 100% HP. The HP declines as users spend Energy and actively use the Sneaker for movement. However, HP does not decrease when the Sneaker is solely used to generate Energy.

The Sneaker HP decay rate* is affected by:

  1. Comfort Value: Sneakers with higher Comfort values, achieved through base Comfort, levelling up, or adding Comfort Gems, experience slower HP reduction.
  2. Sneaker Quality: Higher quality Sneakers undergo slower HP reduction.
  3. Energy Usage: The more Energy used, the greater the HP reduction.

Note: A new Sneaker's HP remains stable for the first 48 hours after a Shoebox is opened. This grace period is voided if the Sneaker is transferred, listed, or traded within this timeframe.

HP restoration

HP needs to be restored via burning GST and Comfort Gems. The cost increases with the Sneaker's quality. Penalties for diminished HP are as follows:

HP < 100% = Sneaker cannot be listed on the Marketplace or transferred.

HP < 20% = Sneaker cannot be counted to provide Energy in that Realm.

HP = 0, Sneaker cannot be used for moving.

Note: Sneakers automatically restore to full HP upon levelling from Level 24 to Level 25.

Rainbow Sneaker HP Rules

Rainbow Sneakers' HP can’t be restored.

Attribute Points Redistribution System

Users have the ability to reset the allocated points of their Sneakers back to unused points by burning GMT. The cost in GMT for each point reset will increase with the quality of the Sneaker, and this cost is consistent across all Sneaker levels.

Inventory System

STEPN's inventory is divided into two main categories, each with its own capacity limit:

  1. NFT Sneakers: sharing a single dedicated space, users can hold up to 256 Sneakers.
  2. Other Items: Gems, Mystery Boxes, Minting Scrolls, and Shoeboxes share a second space, with a capacity limit of 500 slots.

Cross-Realm Shared Inventory:

  • Inventory space is unified across all Realms, meaning that the caps apply globally across a user's account, irrespective of the Realm.

Handling Excess Items:

  • If a user exceed these inventory limits, the additional items are not lost. However, they will remain invisible in the inventory interface until the user reduces their inventory by selling or utilising the surplus items.

VIP System

User can utilise Apple's In App Purchase function to subscribe STEPN monthly VIP.

Realm

Definition and Purpose

A Realm in STEPN is essentially a server hosting a fork of the game, allowing users to experience the same gameplay in different digital environments. Realms can be built on new Layer 1 Blockchains or within STEPN's existing Blockchain. These are developed in collaboration with ecosystem partners to introduce new users and present fresh value propositions.

Each Realm offers significant freedom to define its brand and community culture, including:

  • Color themes
  • Visual aesthetics of the NFTs
  • Utility tokens
  • Unique narratives

Ecosystem partners can enjoy:

  • Sharing royalty fees
  • Enhancing engagement within their communities
  • Encouraging organic growth aligned with their core values

Utility Token Restrictions

In-game utility tokens are unique to each Realm and cannot be transferred between them.

Current STEPN Realms

  • Solana Realm: Based on the Solana blockchain.
  • BNB Realm: Based on the BNBChain.
  • APE Realm: Based on Ethereum.

Earning Module

GST Earning

In STEPN, users are equipped with NFT Sneakers to earn tokens by moving. Users can earn both GST and GMT, depending on their strategy.

GST/GMT earnings per minute depend on four main factors:

  1. Type of Sneaker - Base GST earnings vary by Sneaker. Refer to the Sneaker Attributes section for a breakdown of each type
  2. Sneaker’s Efficiency Attribute - Higher Efficiency increases GST earnings per minute. From Level 0 to Level 29, users can ONLY earn GST. At Level 30, users can opt to continue earning GST or switch to GMT, with free switching between modes.
  3. Sneaker’s Comfort Attribute - Higher Comfort increases GMT earnings per minute. Options between GST and GMT earnings become available at Level 30. Users can switch between these two earning modes freely. For GMT releasing detail, refer to the Tokenomic section. Higher comfort also slows HP decay, refer to HP System section for more detail.
  4. Speed of Movement - Optimal speed range maximises earnings. Falling below or above this range reduces earnings by up to 90%, depending on the speed deviation.

Once Energy depletes, token earning stops. Users can continue their activity or exit their session by holding down the Stop button.

GST Cap/Mechanics

Earning Cap

There are two primary caps: the Daily Energy Cap and the Daily Token Cap, which limit the daily amount of Energy users can have, and the amount of tokens users can accumulate each day.

Daily Energy Cap

  • Users commence with 2/2 Energy.
  • The maximum Energy Cap is 20/20.
  • Energy can be increased by acquiring more or having higher-quality Sneakers. (Refer to Energy System)

Daily Token Cap

  • Users begin with a 5/5 Daily GST Cap.

There is NO earning cap for GMT. Rather, the earning is changing dynamically every 1 mins based on the live GMT earners at the time. Similar to the concept of Hashrates*, the GMT earning is calculated and settled every 1 minutes based on the total Rainbow Power (Rainbow Pools) and Comfort (Classic Pool) been utilized in this 1 minutes.

* Hashrate refers to how much computing power is being used by a network (for example, the Bitcoin network) to process transactions. Take Bitcoin for example. Every couple weeks, the Bitcoin protocol automatically adjusts how difficult it is to mine new bitcoins based on the current Hashrate. When the Hashrate is high, the mining difficulty is high and thus reward is low. When the hashrate falls, the difficulty falls with it and thus reward is high.

GMT Earning Mechanics (Classic Pool)

Classic Pool is designed for all the Non-Rainbow Sneakers, Classic Pool comprises 40% of daily released GMT. In Classic Pool, different Sneaker types plays a contributing factor to GMT earning just like how GST earning works.

Level requirement

GMT earning is only available to Sneakers that reaches to Level 30.

Pro rata Mechanic

The GMT earning per person are pro rata based. The more users earning GMT at a given time, the less GMT earning will be available per person. Vice Versa.

Comfort Mechanics

The more Comfort, the higher the earning.

Mystery Box System

Mystery Boxes, containing GST, Minting Scrolls and Gems (Levels 1 – 4), drop randomly during an activity. Each user has 4 Mystery Box slots.

Mystery Box has 10 qualities, with the opening countdown beginning automatically upon receipt. Opening costs a small amount of GST (Base cost) which increases with the box's quality.

Mystery Box drops are influenced by the following factors:

  1. PSL: Player Sneaker Luck
  2. PSLC: Player Sneaker Luck Coefficient (Gem/Socket, NFT badges)

In essence, the quality of a Mystery Box is affected by the amount of Energy used in a single session and the Sneaker's Luck value.

Transferring a Sneaker from a Spending Account to a Wallet, resulting in Energy reduction, will lead to the purging of all Mystery Boxes in that particular Realm.

Slots and Drop Rate

  • There are four Mystery Box slots available across all Realms. A new Mystery Box cannot be received until an existing slot is freed.
  • It's important to note that the drop rate for Mystery Boxes is not guaranteed.
  • Listing a Sneaker on the marketplace, resulting in Energy loss, does not lead to the burning or purging of Mystery Boxes.

Success Rate Increment System

Users have the opportunity to permanently increase success rates in the following areas by burning GMT. The increments are as follows:

  1. Gem Upgrades: Improve the success rate of all Gem upgrades by 1%
  2. Shoebox Quality: Improve the chance of obtaining a higher quality Sneaker from a Shoebox by 1%
  3. Double Sneakers from Shoe-Minting: Improve the success rate by 5% for receiving DOUBLE Sneakers from Shoe-Minting

Incremental Costs and Caps:

  • Users can burn GMT for each enhancement category a maximum of five times, with the cost for each subsequent burn increasing gradually.

Example of Enhanced Success Rates:

  • Gem Upgrade: If the original success rate for upgrading a Level 1 to Level 2 Gem is 35%, applying the improvement five times raises the success rate to 40%.
  • Double Mint from Shoe-Minting: Similarly, enhancing the chance to receive DOUBLE Sneakers from Shoe-Minting five times adds an additional 25% to the original success chance.

Running Module

Social-Fi systems will be revealed once we have completed all Game-Fi systems.

Energy System

Energy is required to earn tokens and Mystery Boxes, with every 1 Energy equating to 5 minutes of running session. Energy replenishment begins only after acquiring an NFT Sneaker. Users select a Sneaker, then press Start to begin.

Ensure you have Energy before moving, as no tokens are earned with zero Energy

Energy replenishes 25% every 6 hours until it reaches the Energy Cap. The maximum Energy can be increased by holding more Sneakers. The calculation is as follows:

Marketplace Listings and Transfers:

  • Listing a Sneaker on the Marketplace results in a loss of Energy and Energy Cap.
  • Transferring a Sneaker between accounts triggers a Cooldown period during which the Sneaker cannot be used.

GPS, Moonwalking & Airwalking

The screen's top will display a status indicating either Walking, Moonwalking or Airwalking.

Moonwalking

Moonwalking indicates a weak GPS/Internet signal or non-organic movement (e.g., using an electronic scooter or strapping the phone to a dog). No GST is earned during Moonwalking, and Energy may or may not be consumed depending on the circumstances.

Airwalking

Indicates missing or corrupted run data, when airwalking, it is recommended to stop the run as the status won’t go back to normal.

GPS Signal

  • White: No GPS
  • Red: Poor GPS
  • Green: Strong GPS

Anti-Cheating System

SMAC-7 Guidance

SMAC-7 intelligently handles a wide range of common yet unintentional irregularities that may occur during use, such as using the app close to buildings, under trees, or in areas with weak GPS signals. It is also equipped to discern when the app is inadvertently left running, for example, while driving or when users are part of a running group.

Users who maintain high Turing Scores (TS) and face misjudgments concerning Abnormal Runs will have the option to appeal.

SMAC-7 General Rules

  1. The Turing Score (TS) will be displayed through a Traffic Light System for all users.
  2. All users begin with a TS of 100, which can increase to a maximum of 120.
  3. Judgments include: Pass (human), Abnormal Run, Multi-devices, and Bot-hack.
  4. Every run session is checked by SMAC-7, even if the result is not displayed in the user’s interface.
  5. For every four Energy consumption that pass the SMAC judgment, the TS will increase by 1.
  6. TS will decrease for judgments involving Abnormal Runs or Multi-device use.
  7. A Bot-hack judgment will lead to an immediate ban.

NOTE: These are the initial SMAC Gen 7 Rules being made public, and they may be amended with short notice.

Traffic Light System

Healthy: Green Light (81-120 TS); Users are allowed to withdraw assets.

Restricted: Red Light (0-80 TS); Withdrawal of assets is restricted.

Manual Review

Manual reviews are conducted in two scenarios:

  • Manual review available upon user appeal.
  • Periodic and random review.

Deducted TS from erroneously judged sessions will be fully restored. Confirmed bot-hack activities will result in an immediate account ban.

Amnesty

All forms of undiscovered cheating before 23/05/2024 will be pardoned by the FSL team. This policy allows these users a chance to adhere to the rules and engage positively moving forward. However, any cheating that occurs after 23/05/2024, if detected by the FSL team, will result in a ban.

STEPN is an invite only game. User can earn ONE Activation Code for every 10 Energy spent, each user can only hold ONE activation code at a time, until it is used.

Leaderboards

STEPN Leaderboards are a social feature designed to motivate players to compete for social recognition. There are three types of Leaderboards:

  • Weekly: Resets every Sunday at 13:00 UTC
  • Monthly: Resets on the last day of the month at 13:00 UTC
  • All-Time: Never resets

The Weekly and Monthly Leaderboards display the results of the previous period for a limited time, while still accounting for the current rankings:

  • Weekly: Displays previous Leaderboard results for 24 hours after reset
  • Monthly: Displays previous Leaderboard results for 7 days after reset

Leaderboard Points

Players earn Leaderboard Points at the end of each run. Rankings are based on the total points accumulated. Points are calculated using the following factors:

  1. Distance covered with Energy during the run
  2. The Sneaker’s durability left at the end of the run
  3. Energy used during the run
  4. The Highest Attribute Value of the Sneaker used in the run
  5. Ongoing streak of days with ≧ 2 Energy spend

Players with the highest point totals will climb the Leaderboard rankings.

Note: The STEPN team may reset the Leaderboards periodically to improve and refine the system.

Username

The Username system allows users to create a unique username linked to their account. Usernames must follow specific guidelines, and each username can only be used once.

STEPN has integrated Google 2 Factor Authentication to safe guard users' transaction and change users' information. Please save your 2FA code at place that is safe. Resetting 2FA could take month.

Note: Users should never give away their Verification Codes nor 2FA Code to anyone, not even to the STEPN team, as we don't need it/use these codes. Only scammers ask for these codes.

  • Shoe-Minting has a 48 hours cool down for both Vintage Sneakers.
  • Mystery Box does not always contain loots, and if a player reaches the daily GST Cap, the player will not receive GST from the Mystery Box exceeding the daily GST Cap.
  • Activation code is available in-app, each STEPN player has a certain amount of Activation Code they can give to their friends and family. After the player gives out all of the Activation Codes, for each 10 Energy spent in STEPN, the player will be able to generate one extra Activation Code.

  • Gem upgrade has a chance to fail now, the lower the level, the higher the chance to fail.
