HD – High-definition
All standard HD resolutions share a 16∶9 aspect ratio

If you make video, these are common
HD or High Definition has a width of 1280 x 720 pixels (<1 megapixel).
HD is also referred to as HD ready and 720p.
FHD Full HD
The image is 1920 pixels wide and 1080 pixels high (2.07 megapixels).
Full HD is also referred to as 1080i and 1080p.
Full HD or FHD is the resolution currently found on most televisions,
Blu-ray players, and video content.
UHD Ultra HD
The image resolution is 3840 x 2160 (8.3 megapixels).
Ultra HD also known as UHD is increasingly popular among televisions,
media players and video content.
TVs with Ultra HD resolution display 4 times more pixels than Full HD images.
4K
4K has a resolution of 4,096 × 2,160 (8.8 megapixels), a little higher than UHD.
VGA – Video Graphics Array
VGA is still the universal fallback troubleshooting mode in the case of
trouble with graphic device drivers in operating systems.

Wide QVGA or WQVGA
Wide QVGA or WQVGA display resolutions have the same height in pixels as QVGA, but wider.
WQVGA resolutions were commonly used in touchscreen mobile phones

XGA – Extended Graphics Array
The Extended Graphics Array (XGA) or (Extended-XGA, EVGA) is an
IBM display standard introduced in 1990.
Later it became the most common extension of the 1024x768 pixels display.

WXGA and similar display resolutions
Wide XGA (WXGA) is a set of non-standard resolutions derived from XGA (1024x768)
by widening it to 1366x768 with a widescreen aspect ratio of nearly 16:9 or to
1280x800 with an aspect ratio of 16:10.
WXGA is used for low-end LCD TVs and LCD computer monitors for widescreen presentation.

XGA+ and similar display resolutions
XGA+ stands for Extended Graphics Array Plus and is a computer display standard
Usually understood to refer to the 1152x864 resolution with an aspect ratio of 4:3.
XGA+ was often used on 17-inch desktop CRT monitors.
It is the highest 4:3 resolution not greater than 220 pixels (≈1.05 megapixels),
with its horizontal dimension a multiple of 32 pixels.
