Change topdirs to point at the directory (or directories) which you want Recoll to index.

topdirs = /var/src /usr/src /super/secret/src indexes three directories, etc.

Change textfilemaxmbs to something lower if you want Recoll to skip long and boring log files etc (default is 15 MB but I tend to have large but interesting files, so there...)
