BrickBuddyScan Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

BrickBuddyScan identifies LEGO items from images you choose while using the extension.

Data Processed

  • selected webpage images and screenshot crops
  • image URLs submitted for full-image scans and Auto-Detect
  • Brickognize image recognition responses
  • BrickLink API requests when you save BrickLink API credentials
  • BrickLink credentials saved for catalog colors and price data

How Data Is Used

BrickBuddyScan requests all-site access so selection and image URL scans can work on any normal webpage. Selected webpage images, screenshot crops, and image URLs are sent only to Brickognize for LEGO identification. Auto-Detect downloads Hugging Face model data at runtime so the extension can find candidate LEGO regions before a scan. BrickLink API requests are made only after you save credentials.

BrickLink credentials are encrypted before storage in Chrome local extension storage. The encrypted credential envelope and device key stay in extension storage on your device.

User data is not sold and is not used for advertising. BrickBuddyScan does not use selected images, screenshot crops, image URLs, or BrickLink credentials for profiling.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

BrickBuddyScan uses data only to provide LEGO image identification, Auto-Detect selection help, and BrickLink catalog enrichment requested by the user. The extension does not transfer user data for unrelated purposes, advertising, or sale.

Deletion

Logging out removes saved BrickLink credentials and the device key from extension storage. Removing the extension deletes extension local storage, including saved settings and encrypted credential records.
