sudo apt remove xserver-xorg-input-synaptics
sudo apt install xserver-xorg-input-mtrack
sudo nano /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-mtrack.conf
xserver-xorg-input-evdev
Removing synaptics caused me more problems than enabling it. Would one override other setting if both are installed ? I use above setting.

sudo apt install xserver-xorg-input-mtrack
sudo nano /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-mtrack.conf
xserver-xorg-input-evdev
