Doubling down never succeeds. It only further immerses you in whatever mess you've gotten yourself into. You cannot dig your way out of a hole. Simply admit defeat, take the L, and move on.

Huster's First Law is not applicable if you simply never get into a mess anyway.

This is the most-often-ignored of Huster's Laws.
