Installing Proxmox on Raspberry Pi 4 and 5

With these steps I managed to get Pimox on my Raspberry Pi 4 and 5 in february 2024.

Step 1 - Flashing the OS

Install "RPi OS Lite 64-bit" with Raspberry Pi Imager. It's listed under "Raspberry Pi OS (Other)"

Add your applications .env variables to the Github repo as a repository secret, you can find this under the repo settings => secrets and variables => actions

you are going to need an ssh private key that your deployment server is aware of (add public key to servers .ssh/authorized_keys) and add the ssh private key as a repo secret

1. Obtain scripts that bootstrap an arm64 Windows 11 22H2 (I've chosen Windows Home edition and not Pro);

In this article I listed some common problems I encountered when I tried to use Freematics OBD-reader together with traccar device-tracking server. Both are open-source, thanks to which I was able to improve both and their cooperation.

What are the pitfalls and hardware drawbacks of Freematics?

1. Currently, Freematics cannot switch between WiFi and SIM depending on connectivity. If you want to switch to a different WiFi or mobile operator - you need to open your bloody Windows and recompile everything :)

Backstory (TLDR)

I work as a full-stack developer at work. We are a Windows & Azure shop, so we are using Windows as our development platform, hence this customization.

For my console needs, I am using Cmder which is based on ConEmu with PowerShell as my shell of choice.

Instructions to obtain ZSH on a windows environment, without the input funny business presented by some other attempted solutions.

The final result is ZSH running on a mintty terminal, emulated by cygwin, and being handled by the popular cmder.
