Want to work on platform that processes 100m's edge social graphs to extract the conversation graph? One that looks at activity across the social web to discover interests and authorities? On where spinning up 20 cloud-based servers and pulling down gigabytes of data to efficiently process via algorithms is considered a normal day?
If so, PeerIndex is looking for bright, eager to learn developers for graduate and intern developer positions here at PeerIndex.
PeerIndex (www.peerindex.net) is based at the TechHub in the Silicon Roundabout, leading the way to help global companies and local individuals understand the impact of their conversations on the social web and beyond.
PeerIndex is a fast paced and intense environment where you will be developing using continuous integration and deployment managed using KanBan. The PI Engineering team is small, focused and efficient - giving every member the ability to make as much impact as possible.
The PeerIndex platform is built in the cloud using MongoDB, S3, SQS, PostgreSQL, Solr and Hadoop and other open source software.
We are looking for someone with experience in PHP or Python. You will need to be keen to learn new technologies but temper this with the desire to find the appropriate solution for the problem at hand.
The role is a starting role in the QA team building out the test harnesses and managing the QA process for the PI release process. It can either be FT or PT, depending on your constraints. It is based at London's TechHub on the Old Street roundabout.
Since we are a distributed company, we may consider exceptional remotely located applicants.
You must be able to work in the EU. Do not apply if you do not already have a valid work permit for the EU.
The pay is commensurate with experience and effort.
Simple: send us an email at [email protected] with the Subject: QA Intern and submit your cover letter (something brief), your CV and (more importantly) - point us to your personal blog, Github profile, meetups you attend, and/or any OS projects you contribute to or mashups you have built.
We are changing the face of social engagement and authority - and we are looking for people to join us in this adventure. So if your idea of fun is spinning up 20 cloud-based servers and pulling down gigabytes of data to process through Mongo and Hadoop, then we'd really like to hear from you. Around here, we call that - a 'Thursday'.
