This release is the first phase of the Devnet upgrade that specifies the stop slot in the codebase and formally begins the upgrade process. This is the first stage in a two part process; a subsequent Devnet release will then usher in the new era of Mesa functionality on our Devnet. The stop slot will take effect at 15:00 UTC on August 19th 2026, please upgrade your devnet nodes before this time!
If you would prefer an easier upgrade experience, we recommend that you use our new automode upgrade mechanism that allows for a hands free, seamless transition to the new era and only requires one upgrade.
For this release we have temporarily enabled node status tracking by default to help us track the successful progress towards the devnet upgrade. This behaviour can be turned off by starting the node using the --disable-node-status flag.
For detailed instructions on the upgrade schedule and recommended connection parameters, please refer to our upgrade documentation.
If you run into any issues, please include Release: 3.5.0-stopslot in the name of any issues you create. Please report any issues you encounter here or join the discussion!
Supported environments include macOS, Linux (Debian 11, 12 and Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS & Ubuntu 24.04 LTS), and any host machine with Docker.
