To prevent the DNS config from being over written. Put dns configurations in the ifcfg- files in the format:
DNS1=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
DNS2=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
This will prevent nameserver settings from being over written by the network manager.
ifcfg files are found here: /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts
