- 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1.5 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon baking soda
- 0.5 cup butter cut in small pieces
- 0.75 cup milk (used coconut milk, but heavy cream is probably traditional)
- Mix up all the dry ingredients
- cut up butter and mix in to the dry ingredients, mix with hands / fork so that they're roughly 1/4" size pieces
- Add in milk, form into a loose shaggy dough, could be crumbly, form into a disc ~ 1/2" tall on a surface with parchment paper
- Stick it in the freezer for ~20 mins, preheat oven to 425
- Cut, brush with milk or a mixed egg
- Bake ~18 minutes, or until browned
