I have [email protected] which forwards to [email protected]. I can email as [email protected] but this sometimes causes issues and it is clear Gmail is spoofing the From header.

[email protected] is my Hangouts and Google+ account ID. I do not want to lose my friends and history there.

I want [email protected] to be my actual email address and either delete [email protected] or make it Gmail-only and forward the email to [email protected]. I also want [email protected] to replace [email protected] as my Hangouts and Google+ account ID, not losing any of the friends and history associated with it.

As far as I can tell there is no way I can get this. 😟

I have been waiting for years for Google Apps/Enterprise/for Work/Domains/Whatevs to allow using existing Gmail accounts, and I don't mean forwarding. No luck yet.

The From spoofing issue can be mitigated somewhat by explicitly setting Google's SMTP settings for the outgoing credentials.

I'm so glad this isn't just me who wants this. I get the feeling a fair few people would pay for this as part of apps if it was possible.
