Suggestion to remove initials for conciseness; in the author macro I use:
<name form="short" and="symbol" delimiter=", " delimiter-precedes-last="never" initialize-with=". "/>

Thanks, good idea! I wonder why I ever left them in... probably for disambiguation purposes. I'm superbusy at the moment, so give me some time to do the update here and on my blog.
