Enable Phone Calls with Phone Link: Pair Your PC and Smartphone

If you’d like to make and receive phone calls from your Windows PC, you can do it through Microsoft’s Phone Link app by pairing your smartphone over Bluetooth. Here’s a simple, step-by-step guide.

What you’ll need

• A Windows PC with Bluetooth
• An Android phone or an iPhone with Bluetooth
• The Phone Link app on your PC (preinstalled on most recent Windows versions)

Step 1: Open “Calls” in Phone Link

1. On your PC, open Phone Link.
2. In the left sidebar, select Calls.
3. Click Get started.

Step 2: Pair your PC and phone via Bluetooth

1. Follow the on-screen prompts to start Bluetooth pairing.
2. When a PIN appears, confirm it on both devices to complete pairing.

Step 3: Grant required permissions

• On Android: When prompted, tap Allow on the pop-ups (for Bluetooth access, call logs, contacts, etc.).
• On iPhone: Go to Settings → Bluetooth → tap your PC’s name, then enable Sync Contacts (or the equivalent toggle).

• Use the dialer in Phone Link to place a call.
• Search contacts and click to call.

• Bluetooth is on for both devices.
• The phone shows your PC under paired devices with Calls/Phone audio enabled.
• Contacts/Call permissions are allowed for the Phone Link connection.
