C/C++ tips for using printf-style functions
// C/C++ tips for using printf-style functions
// Lots of manipulation can be expressed simply and fast with printf-style formatting
// Also helps reducing the number of temporaries, memory allocations or copies
// ( If you are looking for a simple C++ string class that is printf-friendly and not heap-abusive,
// I've been using this one: https://github.com/ocornut/Str )

Description

Dashing widget to display a Jenkins build status and build progress

The widget is based on the meter-widget which is default in the Dashing installation

The widget can also see the progress of a "pre-build", i.e if you have a job triggering the actual build you want to define, you can configure this job in the jenkins_build.rb as a prebuild.

You can pass along an array of info with varargs using C++ variadic templates. It generates really tight code; the only remaining overhead at runtime is the static arrays of type information (they end up in the `.rodata` segment). In this example I'm passing in an integer describing each arg, but you could just as well pass in function pointers …

Service script for dashing. Update DASHING_DIR variable, add this file to /etc/init.d/ , chmod to 755, and let update rc.d with $ sudo update-rc.d dashboard defaults This scripts stops the dashing service with "killall thin" which will kill all thin services running on your server.
#!/bin/bash
# Dashing service
# Add this file to /etc/init.d/
# $ sudo cp dashboard /etc/init.d/
# Update variables DASHING_DIR, GEM_HOME, & PATH to suit your installation
# $ sudo nano /etc/init.d/dashboard
# Make executable
# $ sudo chmod 755 /etc/init.d/dashboard
# Update rc.d
# $ sudo update-rc.d dashboard defaults
