Data Reporter

The Huffington Post is looking for a data reporter to join our data journalism desk.

You'll work on a small team in the Huffington Post newsroom in New York City, using math and
computer programming to help readers explore and understand the data behind the news. You'll
pitch, design and develop data-driven news stories, interactive databases, and static, interactive
and real-time graphics.

You're passionate about finding and telling stories through data. You have good news
judgement. You have experience working with a modern, dynamic programming language
(Python, Ruby), web development technologies (HTML, CSS, Javascript), visualization libraries
(Raphael, D3) and a solid understanding of statistics and statistical software (R, Stata).

Designer/Developer

The Huffington Post is looking for a designer/developer with an interest in news and politics to
join our data journalism desk.

You'll work on a small team in the Huffington Post newsroom in New York City, using
information design and web development to help readers explore and understand the data
behind the news. You'll pitch, design and develop graphics, interactives and news applications.

We're looking for a visual journalist who has experience with front-end web technologies (HTML,
CSS, Javascript), data visualization and mapping tools (Raphael, D3, Processing, WebGL,
TileMill).

You have good news judgement and a solid understanding of current events and American
politics. You're excited about pushing the boundaries of online storytelling through databases,
maps and data visualization.
