Not good for binary files. The file changes when you save it again. Git counts it as a revision so you end up with lots of images.

Innovation Stack

• don't want mass centralization It is very diffucult to share hardware and system sofware Storage in middleware - organizes the content Data Processing - Presentation layer!!!! - merges all the stuff you do with the appication that you are trying to solve. If we want to share all of our innovation it doesn't work.
  If you wrote a code others will have a hard time using your code. If I move things from my innovation stack it looses value.
  If we put more into the presentation layer than we can share the contents of our innovation stack. We want people to use the work that we have done or to work with us.

Where is technology disrupted science? - Disruption - Sustainable innovation vs disruptive innovation innovation = new ideas over time sustainable innovations maintain the slope disruption changes the slope publication is disruptive Scientific publication process is being disrupted.

How do we quantify innovation? What is the value of research? What does your research look like in the short term? Where can you save time? Unit of work - human capital inverted in a project want to think about the value of our units of work

Units of work in publishing used for many differrent arenas dont want to hinder the research process

Lab to the cloud most experimental equipment is not networked because it is too expensive lot of time lost between generation and use data transfer helps to reduce that time.

If you change the file name from notes to notes.markdown or notes.md then your notes will be presented as Markdown.
