AMISH FRIENDSHIP BREAD
* Do not refrigerate. | |
* Air will build up in the bag. Let it out.
* The blob will grow. This is normal.
Day 1 March 31: Do nothing.
Day 2 April 1: Mash the bag.
Day 3 April 2: Mash the bag.
Day 4 April 3: Mash the bag.
Day 5 April 4: Mash the bag.
Day 6 April 5: Add 1 cup each flour, sugar, milk. Mash the bag.
Day 7 April 6: Mash the bag.
Day 8 April 7: Mash the bag.
Day 9 April 8: Mash the bag.
Day 10 April 9: Follow these directions:
1. Combine 1.5 cup each flour, sugar, milk in a non-metal bowl and mix well.
2. Add the entire contents of the bag to the bowl. Mix well.
3. Measure 4 separate batters of 1 cup each into gallon-sized ziploc bags. Now you're stuck giving 3 of them away with a copy of these instructions ("day 10" on these instructions should become "day 1" on your new copy). Remember--they're alive. If you don't give them away, you're killing them.
4. Bake: | |
