To whom it may concern:

I am writing to you today to apply for the position of Mechanical Engineer I. I
believe Triple Ring would be a great fit for me, for a variety of reasons.
I find environments with variety and novelty in my day to day tasks to
be very rewarding. I also like the idea of working with a team to take on
challlenging tasks in a variety of application domains, and being involved in
every level of the design and prototyping process. I believe the experience I
would gain at Triple Ring would be invaluable for someone looking to start a
career in Mechanical Engineering.

This Spring, I graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a Masters
degree in Mechanical Engineering; my thesis involved data acquisition and
simulation of heat transfer using MATLAB and COMSOL. As an undergrad, I helped
build a multitouch computer screen for an undergraduate research competition at
my university, which tied for third place. On my own, I have always enjoy
building things, from simple prototypes to entire software projects, and I have
taught myself both Python and Javascript to further these goals. I am also very
interested in robotics and controls.
