Vegan Queso

Vegan Queso

Ingredients

  • 1 cup nutritional yeast flakes
  • 1.5 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 Tbsp. arrowroot starch
  • 2 Tbsp. Earth Balance vegan butter
  • 3 shakes of garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. ground cumin
  • 1 tsp. paprika
  • 2 shakes of cayenne pepper
  • 3 shakes of red pepper flakes
  • 1 finely diced jalapeno pepper
  • 3 spoonfuls of diced tomatoes

Directions

  1. In saucepan, melt vegan butter and add in almond milk. Whisk together.
  2. Whisk in nutritional yeast flakes and mix until thoroughly combined.
  3. With heat on high and whisking consistently, add in arrowroot starch. Do not stop whisking until mixture is completely smooth or it will clump.
  4. Turn heat to low and mix in seasoning, tomatoes, and jalapeno
  5. Optional: Add top secret hot sauce
