Fallout 4 mods I like and/or use. Warning: While most of the mods I like just change some minor bits or automate parts I don't want to do (but still want to enjoy, e.g. Sim Settlements), many of these mods are ridiculously unbalanced (double perks, brutal melee, brutal guns, permanent fusion cores) and will ruin the game experience for you if you just load them all up before you've played a bunch of FO4.
- Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch - Fixes for various FO4 bugs
- Radiant Quest Marker (Complete) - puts an [R] next to quests that are radiant (i.e. randomly assigned, from one of the factions) quests, vs story or side quests
- Sim Settlements - Don't micro-manage your settlements, instead toss down concrete pads (recreation, house, commercial, martial, etc) and a free settler will care for it.
- Sim Settlements: Industrial Revolution - Adds industrial plots that can advance down various "progression trees" to provide different benefits
- Sim Settlements Addon- Junk Town - additional plot layouts
- Sim Settlements: Wasteland Ventures - additional plot layouts
- Sim Settlements: Wasteland Ventures 2 - additional plot layouts
- Sim Settlements: Rise of the Commonwealth - choose from one or more (1 max at time of writing) preset city layouts for most settlements, then assist the city leader (one of your idle companions) in raising the city from level 0 to 3, as the city auto-builds.
- Sim Settlements - Ted's Leaders Pack - extension for Rise of the Commonwealth expansion discussed above: allows 10 or so additional NPCs (Sturges, 2-3 NPCs from Abernathy Farm, 2-3 NPCs from Finch Farm, and more) to become city leaders, so you can build more cities at once
- Puma's Longer Power Lines - 2x --- Power lines can be twice as long
- Nuka World Grenade Recipes - Several different recipes from Nuka World
- Corn Starch - Adds several recipes to craft corn starch, an adhesive
- Building Materials Dispenser - Craft a vending machine to sell you building materials
- Enhanced Jet - makes Jet last longer
- Double The Scrap - just what it says; twice the components for 'scrapping' an item
- The Grinder - bulk scrap your items into raw components using this machine
- Craftable Buffout - craft the Buffout chem
- NukaCraft - Nuka Cola Recipes --- Various recipes to enhance various flavors of Nuka-Cola
- Money Is Not Junk - prevents pre-war money from being marked as junk (== prevent from being scrapped into cloth)
- Craftable SPECIAL Books - Craft 100 pre-war money into a book that will grant you 1 SPECIAL point, just like the book under the crib in the house across from the sanctuary workshop (oops spoiler)
- [PC] Weightless Components - Sets the weight for almost all junk to 0 so you can spend your time playing Fallout 4 instead of Cargo Van Simulator
- M.R.E.'s - Craft some good food
- Workshop Turret Pack [PC] - Adds a bunch of wacky turret types that you can craft
- Permanent Fusion Cores - Fusion cores are no longer consumed (this is extremely OP)
- Emerald Necklace - New Settlement ------- adds a new settlement (useable workshop) behind the billboard overlooking Vault 111 (where you first emerge)
- Quiet Home Plate [PC] - Silences all the ambient noise that plays in the player housing in Diamond City, "Home Plate"
- (PC) Broadway Diner Settlement - Adds a settlement in the northeast quadrant in a quiet little spot
- Scrap Grass, Bushes, and Leaves - Scrap the annoying brush in your settlements
- Graygarden Overpass Lift - Adds a lift to the overpass above Graygarden
- Finch Overpass Lift - Adds a lift to the overpass above Finch Farm
- Nuka World - Exotic Lights - Cool housing items
- Double Water From Water Purifiers - Create a 5 water purifier, get 10 water from it
- Settlement Management Software - Craft this holotape, and use the tape in a terminal (not pip-boy) in any settlement to access a nice interface to manage settlers
- The Collector: Bobbleheads - Adds a quest to go to Vault-Tec HQ and unlock a computer telling you where to collect all 12 (13?) bobbleheads....
- Scrounger's Weekly, magazine collection - Adds a series of magazines with new bonuses
- Provisioner Guard Dog - The provisioner is now accompanied by a scary dog instead of a scary cow
- Teleport To Companion - PC ---- Teleport to your companion, in case e.g. you accidentally left him in the basement of Beantown Brewery by telling him to 'stay here, boy'
- Dogmeat Redux! - Makes Dogmeat bigger and faster and adds carry weight
- Everyone's Best Friend (Dogmeat) - Dogmeat doesn't count as a companion (as was apparently intended originally) so you can take a companion + Dogmeat with you on your murder sprees
- Visible Companion Affinity - Allows you to directly see your 94.9% affinity, with Cait, instead of having to guess what "ok bby" means.
- Companions can sneak - Your companions VERY OCCASIONALLY succeeed in sneaking (but will usually blow up a mine anyway)
- Adjustable UI Volume Sliders - Turn down several specific types of sounds in the game
- More Volume Adjustments In Settings - Turn down several other specific types of sounds in the game
- Aet's Wooden Pip-Boy - Now you have a super awesome pip-boy
- Improved Map With Visible Roads - Enhances the map
- Enhanced Blood Textures Basic - More and more realistic blood
- Timestopping VATS - VATS pauses (like FO3/NV) instead of going really slow
- CleanVATS - Green Tint Remover ----- Removes the green tint wash from VATS
- Young Explorer - Enhances the character creation options to allow you to create a younger explorer than the vanilla game allows
- Atomic Radio - New tunes
- Brutal Melee Perks - Reworks the melee perks to avoid burning a bunch of points just to make melee really good
- Brutal Guns - Reworks the melee perks to avoid burning a bunch of points just to make guns really good
- Reduced Sprint Cost (PC) - Reduces the AP cost of sprinting
- Colorful Mirelurks - Gives mirelurks a rainbow of color possibilities
- More Vendor Caps (2000) - Vendors have a realistic amount of cash to trade with
- Better Cap Value for Food - Vendors pay more for food items (makes farming for cash a bit more viable)
- Settlement Store Income Increase - Settlement stores now collect more passive income than the "almost none" in the vanilla game
- Wasteland Imports - Adds items from previous FO games
- wedding rings (med pump and rad) - You start with a wedding ring and you can collect your spouse's wedding ring and wear both, giving you nice unique items.
- Parrot Print shirts - Replaces one of the common shirt patterns with a parrot/hawaiian print shirt
- Vault 81 - Timed Mole Rat Disease --- This adds a timer to the disease you can contract in Vault 81, so it lasts briefly instead of "forever"
- Double Perk basic version - Get 2 perk points per level
