- Have another one of these meta meetups!
@chrisortman suggested an "open space" style meetup so people can break off and discuss topics.
- Find out where meetup donations go.
I looked into this and Jerry is the only one with access to this part of the account. Still need to transfer total ownership over from him.
- Make techcorridor.io emails for Chris Ortman and Suzanne Kozina (and anyone else who wants one) for anything they want to set up.
- Make an
#intros
channel in Slack.
For finding people with certain interests, needs, etc. (I need more clarification on this.)
- Make a Facebook group.
Especially for very general, public facing events. Could be handled via Meetup? @chrisortman said he'd look into this.
-
Make a LinkedIn group.
-
Plan a beginners meetup ("Newbies" meetup).
Perhaps a series, but there is definite interest in learning to program. Discuss further in the #newbies
channel.
- Make a jobs site
I'm particularly interested in seeing what we can do with this. Might come up with a basic demo for us to discuss. Need design help.
-
List events in wiki, make this more public and obvious
-
Make a public Google calendar
Note: there's an iCalendar feed that can be subscribed to via Meetup. Could be helpful.
-
Share access for tweeting via @techcorridorio
-
How do people know how to start small businesses/become contractors? What resources are out there?
-
Host an "Apps for a Good Cause" event (idea via Suzanne)
- ISE taught programming over the summer. Chris Ortman is teaching high school kids through Kirkwood. Peter has a workshop on Saturdays at ICPL. (Possible room for collaboration.)
