This �N Sync enhanced CD (ECD) contains a multimedia presentation and 50 FREE HOURS of America | |
Online software that allows you to launch directly to TWO �N Sync Web sites (http://www.nsync.com and | |
http://www.peeps.com/nsync) via America Online's Web Browser. The following explains how to make | |
the most out of the multimedia presentation and the free online software. | |

GETTING STARTED: | |
1. Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive. A main menu should automatically launch (if you do not see | |
the main menu when you insert the disc, access your CD file directory and double-click "Runme32.exe" | |
(Win 95 users). From this menu, you can click on several buttons: | |
a) �N Sync Multimedia & Web Sites!: this lets you watch a multimedia presentation AND link to the �N | |
Sync Web sites | |
b) Install QuickTime 2.1.2: this lets you install QuickTime software, version 2.1.2 | |
c) Read Me: this lets you read how to use the enhanced CD | |
2. BEFORE YOUR PROCEED WITH ANYTHING ELSE, CLICK ON THE "INSTALL QUICKTIME | |
2.1.2" BUTTON TO INSTALL THE QUICKTIME SOFTWARE ONTO YOUR COMPUTER. | |
(IMPORTANT: IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A VERSION OF QUICKTIME NEWER THAN 2.1.2 | |
INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER, DO NOT INSTALL QUICKTIME FROM THIS ECD. | |

�N SYNC MULTIMEDIA & WEB SITES: OVERVIEW | |
The main menu screen displays a "virtual CD jewel case." At the top of the screen, the CD Player will | |
automatically start playing music. To select a different song, you may operate the CD Player controls (see | |
the "CD PLAYER CONTROLS" section below for more details) or you may click on the name of the song | |
in the middle of the CD jewel case. | |
Click on the America Online or the BMG Entertainment logos to VISIT THE �N SYNC WEB SITES | |
FOR FREE! (see "TO VISIT THE �N SYNC WEB SITES FOR FREE" below for more details!) | |
At the left side of the CD jewel case is a tool bar with several buttons on it. The following summarizes the | |
functionality of each button: | |
CD Player: Click here to make the CD Player appear or disappear. | |
Music: Click here to go to the song selection screen (this is the same as the Main Menu screen). | |
Online: CLICK HERE TO VISIT THE �N SYNC WEB SITES FOR FREE! (see "TO VISIT THE �N | |
SYNC WEB SITES FOR FREE" below for more details!) | |
Video: Click here to go to the video screen to watch a video snippet (see "VIDEO SCREEN" below for | |
more details). | |
Lyrics: Click here to go to the lyrics selection screen to read the lyrics to the songs (see "LYRICS | |
SCREEN" below for more details). | |
Photos: Click here to go to the photo selection screen to view photos (see "PHOTO SCREEN" below for | |

Exit: Click here to go to the credits screen and exit the multimedia presentation. | |
CD PLAYER CONTROLS: | |
The following describes the various controls of the CD Player: | |
Random: Click here to play songs in random order. | |
Loop/Play-Through button: Click here to make the songs automatically replay from the beginning when | |
the final song is completed (Loop mode). Click here to make the CD play the songs once and then stop | |
(Play-Through mode). | |
Stop: Click here to stop the CD. | |
Play/Pause: Click here to start or pause the CD. | |
Previous Song: Click here to skip to the previous song. | |
Next Song: Click here to skip to the next song. | |
Search Backwards: Click here to search backwards within the current song. | |
Search Forward: Click here to search forwards within the current song. | |
Volume: Click the "up" arrow to turn the volume up. Click the "down" arrow to turn the volume down. | |

The lyrics displayed in this screen are those for the song currently playing on the CD Player. To see the | |
lyrics for another song, click the "Song List" button and select the lyrics from another song. | |

Small photo buttons: Click each of these see a larger view of the selected photo. | |

Small photo Buttons: Click each of these to read the biography of the selected artist. | |

3. Click on "�N Sync Multimedia & Web Sites!" After a few seconds, a picture of the �N Sync album | |
cover will appear and music will begin to play. Click anywhere on this screen to proceed to the main | |
menu. | |
4. At the main menu screen, there is a "virtual CD jewel case." Click on the "Online" button on the left | |
side of the CD jewel case. This will take you to the "Online" screen. | |
5. At the Online Screen, there are two buttons in the middle of the screen: �N Sync and Peeps. Click on | |
the �N Sync button to launch to the �N Sync Web site (http://www.nsync.com) or click on the Peeps button | |
to launch to the �N Sync home page at the Peeps Republic Web site (http://www.peeps.com/nsync). | |
6. If you already have AOL 3.0 installed on your computer and use it to access the Web: | |
a. enter your screen name and password and then click "SIGN ON"; | |
b. you will be linked directly to the �N Sync Web site you selected* | |
*If you signed-on to AOL but were NOT linked directly to the �N Sync Web site you selected, go to | |
AOL's Web browser within the "Internet" area and then enter the URL for either of the �N Sync Web sites | |
(http://www.nsync.com and http://www.peeps.com/nsync). | |
6. If you do NOT have AOL 3.0 installed: | |
a. click on the "INSTALL" button to install AOL 3.0 for Win 3.1/95; | |
b. after installation is complete, open the AOL 3.0 folder on your computer and launch AOL; | |
c. follow the directions to sign-up for AOL; when prompted, enter the following registration number and | |
password to receive 50 FREE HOURS on AOL: | |

PASSWORD: [REDACTED] | |
d. once you're signed-on to AOL, go to AOL's Web browser within the "Internet" area and then enter the | |
URL for either of the �N Sync Web sites (http://www.nsync.com and http://www.peeps.com/nsync); | |
e. the next time you want to go to the �N Sync Web sites, see the instructions above entitled, "If you | |
already have AOL 3.0 installed on your computer and use it to access the Web." | |
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are using a version of AOL newer than AOL 3.0, do NOT install AOL 3.0 to | |
launch to the �N Sync Web sites. Instead, launch your own newer version of AOL, go to AOL's Web | |
browser within the "Internet" area and then enter the URL for the �N Sync Web sites | |
(http://www.nsync.com and http://www.peeps.com/nsync). | |
Never manually eject the CD when launching to the �N Sync Web sites. | |
2. WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE WEB ACCESS? | |
Included on this CD is America Online (AOL) software that allows you to launch directly to the �N Sync | |
Web sites (http://www.nsync.com and http://www.peeps.com/nsync) via America Online's Web Browser | |
and which gives you 50 FREE HOURS on AOL when you first sign-up! However, if you already have | |
access to the Web and do NOT want to get 50 FREE HOURS on AOL, you can launch directly to the �N | |
Sync Web sites by locating the "Weblink.htm" file on the CD's main directory using Windows Explorer | |
and double-clicking on this file. This will launch your Web browser and connect you to the �N Sync Web | |
sites. | |
3. HOW DO I PLAY THIS CD'S MUSIC ON MY COMPUTER? | |
You can play this CD's music on your computer. To do this follow these instructions: | |
Windows 95: exit from the main menu that appears. Select your CD player from the Start menu | |
Start/Programs/Accessories/Multimedia/CDPlayer | |
