Magento
Magento is a great platform for your business if you have the development resources; finances and budget and want an scalable system for the future
Pros of Magento
• Open-source so you can tweak it as much as you want with zero licensing fees.
• Feature-rich Packed with features that an Ecommerce store needs in the core code
• Large community of users, developers, and service-providers
• Optimized for large stores
• Multiple Online Stores in One
• Multilingual and multi-currency support out of the box.
• Ideal for Enterprise usage
Cons of Magento
• Magento is a complex and it will take longer to develop
• Requires a reliable hosting environment and store management to run properly.
• Expensive Extensions and development
WooCommerce
WooCommerce seems to be the perfect platform for small to medium or new businesses with less than a 1000 products. The eCommerce platform is very user friendly and operates with the same style as WordPress, but it does lack some features and functionalities that may be beneficial for enterprise eCommerce sites.
Pros of WooCommerce
• Open-source so you can tweak it as much as you want with zero licensing fees.
• Cost-effective Users can find plenty of themes, extensions, and plug-ins quickly and installation is easy.
• Customizable Choose from over 2000 free themes, each with preset CSS styles and color themes that you can tweak and experiment with.
• User-friendly
Cons of WooCommerce
• It’s a wordpress plug-in and it doesn’t have the full versatility you may need if you are looking to build a store with over 1,000 of products.
• Limited scalability not optimized for large stores
