- Start InkScape
- Load .SVG file
- Ensure all objects are converted to paths and check scales using mm sizes.
- Export as .DXF
- Start Laser app
- Load your .DXF file
- Move imported paths onto laser bed (top right corner).
- Click Download
- Clear ALL existing designs, since any previous users will have stuff already loaded.
- Set power (0.65), speed and cornering speed of laser. The latter two should be looked up in the reference book, based on the material being cut (and required depth)
- Open lid.
- Ensure grill and honeycombe (latter has white tape in bottom left corner) are placed on the bed.
- Move laser to just outside top-right corner of bed (Use Left/Right).
- Place material on the bed at top right, covering only the honeycomb, not the flat metal.
- Press Z to enter height mode.
- Place perspex tool next to the laser to get correct cutting distance (Allow 1mm extra clearance for slightly inaccurate tool). Use Up/Down to move the laser to the correct height.
- Press Z to leave height mode.
- Move laser with Left/Right to be over the top-right corner of the material to be cut.
- Close lid.
- Press Test
- Check that laser route is within the material you have placed down.
- Turn on fans (first two sockets on 4-socket block)
- Press Start
- Wait...
- Remove finished pieces & scraps.
- Turn off fans (first two sockets on 4-socket block)
- Add laser time to laser book (and time of completion)
- Add any materials (wood/acrylic) to materials book.
