Main wishes...
-
logging
- When I was implementing annex-requesting, it would have been nice to see detailed logging of whether my submitted data was good. Same for troubleshooting; updating code.
- Related: some process I can check to see if a submission was successfully submitted/processed.
-
post requests
- Right now, I put a data-file, and a related count-file, in a particular place on the server. I would like to be able to post required data to a url -- and get back an appropriate status code indicating the submission was valid.
-
check on requests
- It would be nice to perform an api check on submitted requests by item-barcode and patron-barcode, with the response being a status (link).
- for apis in general, api-responses with links are useful (hateoas format)

-
syncing reports
- We would like to periodically sync our ILS software's sense of what items are at the Annex, with the Annex's software's sense of what items are at the Annex. In some way (there are numerous options) that would require us to query Annex holdings.

Other wishes...
-
as scans grow
- I assume that as more folk become aware of the Annex scanning service, usage will increase. It would be nice to have a way of querying the third-party scanning service on item-status, patron-status -- and for reports.
-
more metadata stored with item
- Context...
- Managers may decide what to store offsite given usage, and/or what peer institutions are storing.
- We may cooperation with other consortial partners to, for example, keep instead of returning others' BorrowDirect requests.
- For purposes such as this, it may be useful to add extra metadata to the inventory-control record for an item.
