OVERVIEW Hotjar Blocker is a browser extension that blocks Hotjar tracking requests on domains specified by the user. We are committed to protecting user
privacy.

DATA COLLECTION This extension does NOT collect, store, or transmit any personal data or user information.

WHAT IS STORED LOCALLY The only data stored is:

  • Your list of protected domain names (e.g., "example.com")
  • This list is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API
  • If you are signed into Chrome, this list may sync across your devices via Chrome Sync

WHAT IS NOT COLLECTED We do NOT collect:

  • Personal information
  • Browsing history
  • Website content
  • User activity
  • Analytics or tracking data
  • Any data from websites you visit

PERMISSIONS EXPLANATION

  • declarativeNetRequest: To block Hotjar network requests
  • storage: To save your list of protected domains locally
  • tabs: To display blocking status for the current tab
  • webRequest: To count and display blocked requests
  • Host permissions (<all_urls>): To monitor requests on websites you choose to protect
