HAProxy SNI fallback/workaround example this example shows some of the possibilities that are possible to give 'best effort' support for browsers that do not support SNI.. (or at least my quick testcase/workout turned into this.., i dont use it myself, and i don't claim its actually usable for anyone.)

Woody Guthrie, on intellectual property.

This song is Copyrighted in U.S., under Seal of Copyright # 154085, for a period of 28 years, and anybody caught singin it without our permission, will be mighty good friends of ourn, cause we don’t give a dern. Publish it. Write it. Sing it. Swing to it. Yodel it. We wrote it, that’s all we wanted to do.

Allows installing the ubuntu "fuse" package without creating any devices. Used to install packages on docker which require fuse but do not actively use it.

# Fake a fuse install

RUN cd /tmp ; dpkg-deb -x fuse_* .

nodejs clustering, zero downtime deployment solutions

Clustering: The basics

The trick? pass the file descriptor from a parent process and have the server.listen reuse that descriptor. So multiprocess in their own memory space (but with ENV shared usually)

It does not balance, it leaves it to the kernel.

In the last nodejs > 0.8 there is a cluster module (functional although marked experimental)

# Get the current branch name (not so useful in itself, but used in
# other aliases)
branch-name = "!git rev-parse --abbrev-ref HEAD"
# Push the current branch to the remote "origin", and set it to track
# the upstream branch
publish = "!git push -u origin $(git branch-name)"

I've found this code useful for debugging promises, to find what order things are happening in. `console.error` gives a stack trace in the Webkit Developer Tools which makes easily narrow down where the promise creation and resolution is happening.
var Q = require("q");
var Set = require("collections/set"); // https://npmjs.org/package/collections
window.outstandingPromises = new Set();
var originalDefer = Q.defer;
Q.defer = function () {
console.error("Deferred created");
var deferred = originalDefer();
deferred.stack = new Error("").stack;
window.outstandingPromises.add(deferred);
