this is my journal of my temporary disability. i hope to share lessons learnt from my experience. my primary focus will be on coding using the following ides: visual studio 2010 (windows xp - yes i know) and vim (osx).

i used the following on-line touch typing test: http://www.typingtest.com/ to assess before my temporary disability and here are the results:
left handed: 20 words per minute full use of both hands: 60 words per minute
###hardware
visual studio 2010: standard 102 qwerty keyboard and optical trackwheel mouse. i've asked work for a special keyboard/roller mouse and a compact keyboard.
vim: macbook pro which has a 79 key querty and trackpad.

- sticky keys (control panel > accessiblity options ) - make shift/win/ctrl/alt sticky.
press modifier key twice to lock,turn stickkeys off...andmake sounds when modifier key is pressedare unchecked.show stickykeys status on screenis on.
ditched
- clicklock (control panel > mouse properties) - more of a hinderance, would be better of switch mouse to left hand - hold down left mouse button briefly to trigger selection mode.
