###About

I'm a full-stack web developer at StageBloc in Chicago.

I’m a very calm, patient guy, which helps when pairing and working in groups. Before coding, I worked as a guitar teacher and writing tutor. I love teaching and sharing with others as much as learning.

###Experience 2013-14

2012-13

  • TA at DevBoocamp : I helped students learn jQuery, JavaScript, Ajax, and Sinatra.

  • DevBootcamp Chicago : 9-week intensive programming “bootcamp.” The structure of the program: 3 weeks pure Ruby; 3 weeks Sinatra, JavaScript, Ajax; 3 weeks Rails, RSpec. We built many small apps and programs, learned to pair and work in teams.

  • Big Nerd Ranch : 5-day training in Ruby on Rails. We built about 15 small apps to develop a variety of skills with Rails and to gain familiarity with important gems.

  • ThoughtBot : 2-day training in TDD. Learned ThoughtBot’s workflow for RSpec and Cucumber development to build app using third-party service.

2011-2012

  • Worked on a startup idea called Gear of the Godz, a music gear website helping musicians decide on gear based on their favorite musicians. We used WordPress and wrote original content. We built up some traffic and direct user engagement through Facebook and our site.
