Sentinelles Sylvestres (English version)

You are a...

Wildlife Watcher

Role-playing game for he young eco-warriors (but not only them), based on Robot Ranger by Éric Nieudan.

Chose your Name and your look / origin: Elf, Lutin, Leprechaun, Gnome, Troll, Nymph, Sylph, Pixie...

Pick one Trait per column:

Magic Terrain Edge
Air / Wind Marshes Stealthy
Water / Ice Clearings Quick
Fire / Light Undergrounds Sharp-eyed
Ground / Rock Branches Impressive
Charm Rocks Tough
Healing Underbrush Caring

Do something

When doing something dangerous / uncertain, roll 2d6:

  • Add +1 if you're on your Terrain,
  • Add +1 if your Edge can apply,

To use Magic, you'll need an extra dice, preferrably of different size or color.

If the action is Magic, by essence, the Magic dice is rolled and kept, and you'll keep the best dice of the two others.

If you want Magic to help you in a perilous action, you'll roll the three dice and keep the best two.

Result

  • On 10+, the action succeeds,
  • on 7-9, the Guardian applies a Consequence,
  • on 6-, the Guardian applies a Hard Consequence.

Consequences

  • The Threat insinuates, acts or attacks,
  • The Nature is losing ground, its inhabitants are captured, landscape is polluted or destroyed, treasures are stolen,
  • The Watcher is captured or loses a possession,
  • The Watcher is wounded, physically or other ; he/she loses a Trait until healed or cured or has a rest. If left with no traits, the Watcher dies or vanishes.
  • The Watcher has to make a hard choice.

Threat

Looking at the Traits and Motivations of the characters, the Guardian conceives a Threat that incarnates a danger for the Nature or the Watchers.
