<p>
Scalaは2003年にMartin Odersky教授（当時）らによって開発されたプログラミング言語です。TwitterやLinkedIn、Foursquareなどの著名サービスがScalaを採用しており、海外での採用事例は着々と増えてきています。Scalaコミュニティもそれに伴い成長し、世界中の開発者がScalaや周辺ツールの開発に貢献しています。

<p>
日本国内でもTwitterがScalaを採用したことをきっかけに注目を集めはじめ、国内のScala関連書籍は10冊以上出版されています。 一方で、日本国内からScalaへの貢献は多くありません。本イベントでは、Scalaの開発を行っているTypesafe社などからスピーカーを招いて海外のScalaコミュニティとの交流を促進したいと考えています。

また、海外に比べて日本国内のScala採用実績はまだこれからです。Scala採用事例についても幅広く発表募集を行い、「実用言語としてのScala」が持つ優位点や現状の課題について議論を行いたいと考えています。

日本初となるScalaに関する海外からのゲストスピーカーも招いた大規模な有料イベントです。

パラレルに2セッションで進行する予定です。また、一般募集のセッションやLT大会も行う予定です。

<h3>Call for Speakers</h3>

We are looking for speakers to present at the conference.
</p>
</div>
<h5>Details</h5>
<ul>
<li>Talks should ideally focus on real-world use of Scala, but any talk will be considered, as long as it relates to Scala in some way.</li>
<li>Speakers scheduled to present a Sponsor Session may also present separately as an individual.</li>
<li>Please refrain from content or jokes that may be deemed racist, sexist or otherwise offensive.</li>
<li>Slides will be published on the conference site after the conference is finished.</li>
<li>We plan to present all speakers with a gift to commemorate the conference. (Stay tuned for more details!)</li>
<li>Unfortunately we are unable to pay travel expenses for speakers.</li>
<li>Speakers do not need to buy a ticket for the conference. If you have already bought a ticket and you are selected as a speaker, please contact us for a refund.</li>
</ul>
