        <p>KavitaReader ("we", "our", or "us") operates the KavitaReader mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our App.</p>

            <li><strong>App Preferences:</strong> Settings like dark mode, font size, and other customization options</li>
            <li><strong>Reading Progress:</strong> Temporary cache of your current reading position</li>

        <p>This data is stored using your device's secure encrypted storage and never leaves your device except to communicate with <strong>your own Kavita server</strong>.</p>

        <h2>3. Communication with Your Kavita Server</h2>
        <p>KavitaReader connects directly to your self-hosted Kavita server to:</p>

            <li>Authenticate your account</li>
            <li>Retrieve your library content</li>
            <li>Sync your reading progress</li>
            <li>Download books for reading</li>
        </ul>
        <p>All communication happens directly between the App and your server. We never have access to this data or act as an intermediary.</p>

        <h2>4. Required Permissions</h2>
        <p>The App requests the following Android permissions:</p>

            <li><strong>Internet Access:</strong> Required to connect to your Kavita server</li>
            <li><strong>Network State:</strong> To detect connectivity and provide appropriate error messages</li>
            <li><strong>Audio:</strong> For optional page-turn sound effects</li>

        <p>These permissions are used solely for app functionality and not for data collection.</p>

        <h2>5. Third-Party Services</h2>
        <p>KavitaReader does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics providers, or advertising networks. The App is completely self-contained.</p>

        <p>Our App does not collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. The content accessible through the App is determined entirely by your Kavita server's library.</p>

        <p>Your server credentials are stored securely on your device using encrypted storage provided by your operating system. We recommend:</p>

            <li>Keeping your device secure with a lock screen</li>
