So I've seen a lot of confusion about what exactly Horizon edition cars are, why they are worth so much and how many of them are there. Well this post has you sorted!
Now, what exactly is a Horizon Edition Car? Well it's a custom version of a car already existing in the game that comes with a special paint, customized rims/body options and has three special characteristics - picture here
It has a built in boost that no other cars have in the game. It can be either a XP, Skills, Drift Skills, Speed Skills, Destruction Skills or Credits boost. This can be very valuable for acquiring credits, XP or Skill Points faster.
They can only be won on wheelspins or bought from the auction house. I haven't seen any other way to acquire them, although it seems quite a few people are getting some of these cars through wheelspins (judging by how many auctions are up)
They have a minimum listing price of 200k on the auction house. This means the minimum they can sell for on a bid is 200k and even higher for the buyout. These cars carry a lot of value to them, despite quite a lot of them being on the Auction House (the ones that are available currently atleast). I've tried to steal a few for 200, even 270 and 300k and usually the bid goes over that - most ones I've seen sell for atleast 500k or more. I've also seen ones sell for as high 2-3M on bids, and thats not counting buyouts higher than that which are harder to track)
So Horizon edition cars are very useful for furthering your progression in the game and are not that easily obtainable. If you're not really fussed about the quicker progression/faster leveling or don't think it's worth the price of at least 200k per car, then Horizon Edition cars probably aren't for you. But for someone like me, who likes collecting cars and leveling up faster (as well as flipping on the AH), Horizon Edition are another brilliant addition to the game, and I'm definitely going to try to collect them all!

Now I know what you're thinking; that's a pretty small list of cars, and you'd be right. However there are more Horizon Edition cars than this. You can easily look through the Horizon Promo feature and see many more HE cars, but at this stage - they aren't obtainable. I have yet to see anyone online or any auctions of these ones listed below - so hopefully we'll see these released periodically through the wheelspin feature or on special auctions by PG/T10 themselves.
