Nah none of you get it. I literally created this account just to clarify. The enchanting table is capped at 30 levels, there will never be the need to have more than 30 levels to use an enchanting table. Every enchantment has a required level in order to be shown/acquired in the enchanting table as shown in the list provided by op-Here, I'm not sure with the details as this list only applies to books, but what I am sure is that not every enchantment is available with only 15 bookshelves as most people think. Every bookshelf contributes 2 levels per bookshelf to the enchanting table. You can put a bookshelf on every block that's 2 blocks away (including corners) of the enchanting table and on the block 1 level higher above it. So a total of 32 bookshelves can be put around an enchanting table. However, since the enchantment table is capped, using 32 bookshelves yields the same results as using 15 bookshelves. edit: I did some testing and overall I concluded that using 15 bookshelves gave me better and more useful enchantments than using 32. Still, enchantments like Power V and Smite V appear to be unobtainable using a book on the table.

What about Fire Protection I - IV?

You are aware it caps out at 30 level with 15 bookshelves. Although adding more bookshelves than 15 just makes rare enchantments more common. However, you could just get a swamp villager in the new snapshot and max him out for mending. @Ontotoro (sorry to bother)

In Minecraft version 1.20.1, you can place up to 24 bookshelves around an enchanting table. To get the highest level of enchants, which is level 30, you need at least 15 bookshelves. Even tho 15 bookshelves are good enough to access level 30 enchants, adding more bookshelves up to the maximum of 24 can increase the chance of getting rarer enchants. These high-level enchantments will still cost 3 levels of your XP bar.

It's impossible to place more than 24 bookshelves around the enchanting table, Therefore anything that shows 25 or more bookshelves needed for a certain enchant, means it's not possible to get it through enchanting.

idk why people can not understand the difference between xp level and bookshelves level. Every enchantment is common after certain number of bookshelves around the e table. This post is exactly showing that number for that.
