I would like to get all Captains to read through this. Any feedback would be welcome. This is not set in stone until Monday 14th November after we have heard some feedback.
As discussed in a Goals Wimbledon, Referees Meeting which took place on Friday 28th October.
Review of League Rules | |
• Professional Fouls/Last man foul -(in the Handbook it does state a penalty & further disciplinary action). Ie, When the attacking player is in a goal scoring opportunity is fouled by the last defender.
• Goalkeepers are not permitted to take penalties at all during League games (as states in the Handbook)
• Goalkeepers can only change once, at half time (as states in the Handbook) – too much time is wasted changing & it makes the League game feel like a “kick about”.
• Back Pass Rule – a free kick will be rewarded if it is an “accidental” pass back (if the referee deems it so) however a player looking to gain an advantage/purposely passing back will be punish with a penalty. (as states in the Handbook)
Referees current Issues with League teams:
Swearing/Bad language
· We are a family centre with lots of children around. (They do not want to hear it).
· Referees will tolerate swearing as frustration of the game (refs will tell you to calm down and no more action taken)
· Any swearing towards a referee, opposition, spectator or even your team mate will result in an automatic 2 minute sin bin. And the second swear, will result in a red card. You have been warned.
Lateness | |
Results of lateness: | |
* Referees go home later (do not get paid more). This would eventually put off referees from refereeing here as they have other jobs also and they shouldn’t be expected to wait around longer just because teams are late.
* Knock on effect of other teams which leads to complaints & teams will think Goals is always unorganised.
* Opponents and the next game will have their plans getting ruined, everyone has things to do!
Solution on lateness: | |
* Goals will stop short payments. Meaning only ONE player from each teams pays in full on the desk (card or cash) to ensure zero ques at reception.
* Teams will start 3-0 down after 10 minutes and after 15 minutes the game will be abandoned.
* Consistent, lateness will result in your team being removed from the League.
* Referees WILL cut all games short if the game starts late. The team who turned up on time may be compensated by Goals Management.
Kit | |
· All teams should be in matching tops.
· All players must wear shinpads, otherwise they cannot play.
· No jewellery is allowed to be worn during the games.
· Goalkeepers must wear goalie gloves – there’s been too many injuries goalies not wearing gloves.
Goals Management feedback to Referees
· All Referees are required to wear Goals Orange jacket.
· All Referees will have a “blue card” when needed to sin bin a player.
· All players will get more protection. Any aggression shown during the game will result in a sin bin.
· Referees will check jewellery, footwear and shinpads before games.
· No Referees will lean on the boards (or have hands in pockets) and all are asked to move up and down during the game.
· Referees will not be back to back with another Referee.
Kind Regards, | |
