Desk

Functionality

The desk must securely support a monitor arm weighing 7kg and a monitor weighing 16kg, ensuring stability when the arm is fully extended.

The desk should remain stable even at all times.

For reference:

No drawers are needed or desired.

Components

Following, we have a list of options to start with. Any of the options can be changed, but this is a good start.

Countertop

  • Dimensions: 200cm x 110cm (depth could be reduced to 100cm if necessary). Thickness: 25mm - 40mm.
  • Material: Oak. Or another material that provides medium hardness.
  • Color: Natural oak or a darker shade.
  • Edge: should be rounded for comfort and durability.
  • Estimated Weight: Approx. 60 kg (considering oak at dimensions 200x100x4cm).

Available options:

Frame

  • Size Compatibility: Must support a 200cm x 110cm countertop. Consider reinforcing the frame for stability, especially due to the oversized dimensions.
  • Load-Bearing Capacity: Frame should comfortably support the combined weight of the countertop, monitor, and arm, with a margin for additional accessories (total expected load: X kg).
  • Motor Strength: Frame should have a motor capable of handling the load with ease.
