| ### [Harm-Reduction-Facts (/Open to suggestsions??] | |
| ### Pitch | |
| The new administration has just made the Opioid epidemic their number one priority for the FDA. The Affordable Care Act would have rolled back progress on substance abuse treatment, and the White House budget proposal reduces funds for mental health services by 20%. Specifically, these changes would affect Harm Reduction efforts and their ability to serve their community. | |
| This project aims to look at harm reduction data from the [Global State of Harm Reduction](https://www.hri.global/contents/1739) report. In the 2016 election a number of candidates often spoke about addressing the opioid epidemic, this project would aim to show: | |
| * How successful Harm Reduction efforts have been at reducing rates of infection and overdose deaths | |
| * That stimulant injection is rapidly increasing and quickly outpacing the devestation of the heroin crisis | |
| * How often at least one politician brought this up on the 2016 campaign trail | |
| * Demonstrate how detrimental proposed republican policies would be for addicts | |
| * Which communities are most affected, and what their representatives are saying about it | |
| ### Problem | |
| On a big level: | |
| `How might we hold politicians accountable to their campaign promises? / How might we use data to influence politics in a positive way? ' | |
| On a smaller scale: | |
| Is political discourse around the opioid epidemic founded in facts? | |
| ### Solution | |
| ### Target Audience | |
| 1-3 sentences describing what type of user your app would be applicable to. | |
| ### Integrations | |
| * Which APIs will you use? | |
| * Which OAuth integration are you planning to use? |
