QueerDex Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

QueerDex is a Discord bot owned and maintained by @cobaltt7 (Discord ID: 771422735486156811). It is a "fork" (modified version) of the open source Discord bot BallsDex. QueerDex is not currently open source. Support regarding QueerDex is available in the Cobots Discord server.

QueerDex contains virtual objects ("flags") that can be collected by users. The rate that members can collect them at ("spawn rate") is tied to various factors, such as the frequency of messages in a server, the number of members in a server, and possibly others.

By enabling QueerDex in your server or otherwise interacting with QueerDex, you agree to these rules. Please read them before enabling QueerDex in your server. Server owners are responsible to ensure that server members are also aware of these rules.

Rules

It is strictly prohibited to:

  • use QueerDex to commit crimes or break the Discord Terms of Service
  • sell or exchange any flags for money or any other goods outside the bot
  • attempt to manipulate the spawn rate ("farm") by spamming messages, creating multiple servers, or any other means
  • interact with QueerDex on a Discord account that is shared between multiple people
  • use exploits or third-party programs in order to gain unfair advantages

In addition, anyone who witnesses rule-breaking behavior has a responsibility to report it to cobaltt7.

Cobaltt7 reserves the right to invoke punishments for breaking the above rules at thier own discretion. They may also invoke punishments for behavior not listed above, after giving fair warning.

Punshments

Possible punishments include, but are not limited to:

  • Removal of a user's flags
  • Restrictions on a user's use of QueerDex
  • Restrictions on a server's use of QueerDex
  • Limited permissions in the Cobots Discord server

Further expectations

  • All trades and donations are final and will not be reverted whatsoever. You are soley responsible for your own flags and should be aware of what you are trading.
  • Use the bot at your own risk. Cobaltt7 is not responsible for any loss, damage, or inconvenience caused by the use of the bot.
  • QueerDex is provided as-is, meaning there are no guarantees about its future availability or functionality. QueerDex may become unavailable or its functionality may change at any time.
  • User data is forever tied to a single Discord account. Data will never be transferred between accounts.

Security

Cobaltt7 takes security seriously. QueerDex should never be vulnerable to abuse. QueerDex's server and bot user should never be accessed by anyone but cobaltt7.

Regardless, when inviting QueerDex, do not give it any unnecessary permissions just in case it becomes insecure. If QueerDex's Discord token is ever leaked, cobaltt7 will take action as soon as possible, resetting the token and notifying users of the incident in the Cobots server.

If you have reason to believe QueerDex is vulnerable or has been infiltrated, please contact cobaltt7 immediately. Not doing so may lead to punishments within the bot.

Privacy

QueerDex collects the minimal amount of information necessary for its functionality. The only Discord information stored are user, channel, and server IDs, which are long numbers used for identification. If a user, channel, or server associted with an ID is deleted, it is no longer possible to direcly correlate the ID to the target. In addition, QueerDex stores information about all flags owned by a user, and a user's personal settings. QueerDex does not have access to message content, server member lists, or user statuses.

Regardless of the lack of stored information, do not share personal information, including passwords, addresses, or financial details, through the bot.

Your collection of flags may be viewed by other people via commands such as /flags list.

The data is stored on a PostgreSQL server hosted on Railway. Nobody but cobaltt7 has direct access to the database, and it will never be shared or sold to third parties. QueerDex itself is written in Python and hosted using Docker on a virtual machine (VM) on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

You may download a copy of your flags data by using the /flags export command, or you can delete all your player data using the /flags delete command. You may also request your data to view or request it be deleted by contacting cobaltt7.
