These are how I'm appraising places the I'm looking for full time employment. These rules are very specific to me, as a disabled black trans woman. I am not accepting feedback on these rules from anyone except other black trans fem people. Figure out if you / your teams meets the rules before asking me to fill out any sort of application. Feel free to ask me to explain anything here (but like, to explain the facts / wording, NOT explain my reasons for having these rules).
Professionally, I'm a self taught full stack web developer with two years of industry experience, the majority of that experience being with python, team management, and crowdfunding.

- Trans inclusive healthcare, covering SRS specifically
- The oppurtunity to get company funding for activist tech projects (like Quirell)
- Working at least partially in open source
- Potential for upward mobility, my ideal role is engineering manager and software architecture, as opposed to software engineering
- Working on consumer facing software with free options (colloquially: things my friends use)
I live in Portland, I'm willing to relocate to Seattle, slightly unwilling to relocate to San Francisco. Anywhere else needs to be remote (honestly I might prefer working remote), except in extremely exceptional circumstances, like being recruited by someone I like and talk to a lot.
Do not contact me if you don't have any impact on hiring at your company and can only link me to the /careers
page. You need to get a recruiter to email me, CC me in an email with a recruiter, or something of that nature.
If your team is larger than 10 people:
- I can't be both the first Woman of Color and the first Trans Woman. That means you need a WoC or a TW on the team already
- There needs to be someone who isn't a white cis man involved in the recruiting process (usually this is a white cis woman)
- I need to know the % fem and % PoC people on your team. Walk around and do a headcount if you need to
- It needs to be at least 20% fem, 15% PoC. Numbers can budge a bit if you have a large (>30) % of one, but not the other
If your team is smaller than 10 make a judgement call on the degree to which those rules apply to you (ie. teams of say... 2 can be 100% white cis men).
That's everything, good luck ^_^ !!!
