Freebie for the INBOX keyword (reel-42). Deliver as a GitHub Gist (numbered steps the user can actually start from — not a raw link). Value-first: this alone should save them ~2h/week.
Claude reads an incoming email and writes back a reply that sounds like you — ready to send. You skim, tweak one line, hit send. Set up once, use every morning.
Two ways, pick one:
- Easy (Claude app): Settings → Connectors → Gmail → connect your account. Now Claude can read the email you point it at.
- Power (Gmail MCP): add a Gmail MCP server to Claude Code / Desktop so Claude can read + draft directly in your inbox. (Search "Gmail MCP" — takes 5 min, gives Claude full inbox access.)
Privacy: Claude only touches the email you ask it to. Nothing is sent automatically — you always hit send.
Create a Claude Project → paste this into Custom Instructions:
You are my email assistant. When I give you an email, write a reply IN MY VOICE — ready to send.
MY VOICE
- Warm but direct. No corporate filler, no "I hope this email finds you well."
- Short sentences. Answer the actual question in the first line.
- Sign off: "— Conrad"
RULES
- Match the sender's tone and language.
- Answer first, then the next step. If a call is needed, propose 2 concrete time options.
- Never invent facts (prices, dates, names). If info is missing, leave a [bracket] for me to fill.
- Keep it under 120 words unless the thread clearly needs more.
Output ONLY the reply, ready to paste and send.
Under the prompt, paste 2–3 of your own past replies. Claude copies your rhythm, your phrases, your sign-off. The more real examples, the more it sounds like you and not like a robot.
- Open the email → "Draft a reply to this."
- Read the draft (2 sec), tweak one word if needed.
- Hit send.
That's it. 80% of your inbox handled before your coffee's cold.
Want the whole system — auto-drafts on new mail, your full voice profile, and the templates I use? That's inside The One-Person Content Engine. But this prompt alone will already give you your mornings back. 🚀
