More technical information: Aiko Mail's architecture is split into four distinct pieces:
- Client frontend - Vue.JS web app, what the user sees
- Client backend - the Electron application driving Aiko Mail
- Client engine - a TypeScript-based mail sync engine
- Server - TypeScript/JavaScript/Python based infrastructure to drive Aiko Mail's APIs
We started Project Attica because we believe your calendar can improve. There is already innovation happening in this space, and since most users will want to manage their calendar in the same place as their email, Aiko Mail is poised to disrupt this vertical. Project Attica will require modifying the client frontend (Vue.JS, JavaScript based) as well as writing a new client engine to sync calendar events (TypeScript or JavaScript). After creating the engine, you will be tasked with ideating on prospective features that improve on the calendar user experience to craft a novel user interface, which will serve as the calendaring tool for our users.
Our most requested feature, by far, has been a mobile application so users can utilize Aiko Mail's advanced AI triaging and organizational features on-the-go. We have some specifications for the user interface here that we'd like you to implement and iterate on to build out a fully-featured mobile version of Aiko Mail. This primarily targets Swift (for iOS), and optionally Java/Kotlin (for Android). We're looking for an MVP for an email application on mobile, and then improving on that by porting over features from Aiko Mail's desktop application.
