PR-CYBR: WatchDog's Veteran Transition Program - Introduction

Program Description

The WatchDogs Veteran Transition Program (WD-VTP) is a joint partner program for Veterans by Veterans that serves two primary Missions:

  1. Provide a Purpose: For many Veterans getting out of the military, the initial & toughest challenge they face next is finding a new Purpose and new Mission in life. This program seeks to offer a Purpose that aligns with the commonly shared values and principles taught & learned from their time in service to their Country. Service to their Community. The WatchDog Initiative spearheaded by PR-CYBR offers the following training tracks to Veterans seeking to join their collective cause:

    • WatchDogs Security Detail (WD-SD): train & provide security to Rescue Operator's, TOC Operator's, and Handler's
    • WatchDogs K9 Handler (WD-K9): train to become a Certified Dog Handler, assist in Rescue Operations, and train service animals through the WatchDogs Rehab Program (WDRP)
    • WatchDogs Technical Operations Center Operator (WD-TOC-OP): train to be able to deploy & operate a mobile Technical Operations Center, and provide support to Rescue Operations
    • WatchDogs Rescue Operator (WD-RO): train in Search & Rescue Operations (SAR), lead Rescue Operations
  2. Provide a Community: As important as a new Purpose & Mission are, equally so is belonging to a community. Human's are social animals (some more so than others), but when a Service Member transition's from Active Duty to Veteran status, they are essentially left to find their group on their own. Some do, but many don't, and it can be really difficult to relate to the people around them. The Veteran Population span's the globe, and many become Nomad's to seek out a new place, where they can find a new purpose, and sense of belonging that they once had during their military service. PR-CYBR; an ecosystem of Communities, strives to provide that sense of belonging through 3 primary programs:

    • Battle-Buddy Program (B2P): A Veteran specific Community driven Volunteer Program, where Veterans are paired together as "Battle Buddies", and support one another during their time completing their chosen Training Track. After completing Phase-1 (of a 3 part program) where Team Building skills are refined and sharpened, participants can then transition to Phase-2 (M2P).
    • Mentor-Mentee Program (M2P): A Veteran lead Community program, where Veterans are paired with the Youth of their local community, and provide invaluable mentorship and advice to the next generation. Phase-2 (of a 3 part program) allows Mentor's (Veterans) to transfer & instill core values and principles in their Mentee such as: Teamwork, Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Self-less Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. Until & up to the point of which that Young member of society has the knowledge and confidence to take a more active role within their community.
    • Leadership Training & Development Program (LTDP): A Veteran lead Community program that trains local Youth, to provide them with the skills needed to be positively impactful Leader in their Community, Business, and Family. Phase-3 (of a 3 part program), builds off of the progress made in Phase-2 (M2P) and is considered the "Graduate" Program. Veteran's work side-by-side with their Young Mentee to assist them in organizing, launching, leading their own Initiative within their local Community. Mentor's help their Mentee's find their own "Battle Buddy" that will then help them complete the remaining objectives of this final Phase (launching their own initiative). Once Mentee's graduate, Mentor's are to keep in regular contact with their Mentee, though taking a step back and allowing their Mentee to grow into the Leader they helped shape them to be. Veteran's (Mentor's) then conclude their 3-Phased Program & are free to recycle through any of the phases to support staff or to begin with a new Mentee

The journey of a Veteran's Transition from Military Service to Community Service can be nebulous and abstract without an established framework to build off from. The PR-CYBR: WatchDogs Veteran Transition Program (WD-VTP) aims to fill that gap, by providing a structured system that positively impacts both the Veteran & Local populous in a self-sufficient and decentralized way around the Globe. Forging a path for The United States of Americas' Veteran Community, to utilize the skills & knowledge they acquired during their military service to make a large positive impact in the world, starting right from their local community.
