30 days (October 27 - November 28)

Ramping down sponsorship tasks

  • Make an announcement to the team that I'll be transitioning to other projects
  • Extract (from database) a list of our 2014 sponsorships
  • Create visualizations of our 2014 sponsorship activity
  • Prepare report and/or presentation for Jesse to present to SLT
  • Write a blog post about the sponsorship programs
  • Create a team-based model (with wiki pages as guides) for sponsoring events and handling OSS sponsorship requests
  • Work with Everett on Django app for sponsorship data management
  • Ramping up: work with Kype on tmpnb and Jupyter learning and tasks

60 days (December 1 - January 9)

Ramping up data-related tasks and projects

  • Work with Kyle on Jupyter/IPython/tmpnb tasks and begin participating in IPython dev meetings

  • Complete outstanding sponsorship tasks and facilitate transition to team-based sponsorship model

  • Testing and implementation of internal sponsorship management app

  • Explore, test, review existing documentation for all data services products

  • Begin building sample code and demos for meetups, workshops (focus on tmpnb, ObjectRocket)

  • Build a list of communities, meetups, conferences, and research groups for outreach

  • Plan possible travel for 2015

90 days (January 12 - February 6)

Full on data adventures

  • Ramp up contributions to Jupyter/tmpnb project.
  • Continue development (feature enhancement) of sponsorship management app. Support possible integration of dashboard app with dataviz platform
  • Complete and present at least one data-services demo to present at a meetup in Ann Arbor, Chicago, or ATX/SA
  • Write at least one blog post about data services, products, data-related OSS contributions
  • Submit conference talk proposals to data-, hardware-, mapping-, and/or python-related conferences
  • Develop and teach at least one data-related workshop with Rackspace tools
  • Collaborate with ObjectRocket team to discuss outreach to developers and data scientists
