Thank you my friend Egor Torskoy for this Q&A regarding the last post "SKY OF NON MEDITATION". I will post it here for it makes some points more clear:
Egor Torskoy: Thank You. I have a question:"When that knowledge is firmly established", is there still some "scent" of individuality, some residual character or "scent" of Trong Suốt for You? Or rather all individuality dissolves without a trace, like a doll made of salt who dissolves in the ocean waters?
Trong Suốt: Dear Egor Torskoy,
"When that knowledge is firmly established" is just the beginning, because it is just established in the intellect. At that time the sense of individual is still there, but the belief in duality of subject experiencing object is being destroyed in the intellect. That knowledge inspires the mind to loosen its hold on reality, because its own "reality" is realized to be an illusion. And the intrinsic nature, the knowing quality of any experience at all time, begin to appear more and more clearly.
The more confident in that nature, so the less grasping at phenomena as having identity. The sense of being an individual become more and more transparent. But whether or not a sense of "me" is there, it is of no concern anymore, because it is just an empty thought. Why try to dissolve a "me"'while in fact it is non-existence?
With total confidence, the yogi is like a sky of awareness, whatever happens in it is of no concern, because they are not other than the sky and as empty as the sky.
The "scent" of a "Trong Suốt" is dissolved at that time, but what "scent" is left? The way of speaking, the humorous, the compassionate, the energetic, the creative... many good qualities still there, enhanced greatly by the freedom and clarity come from realizing the nature of reality :)
Love you,
Trong Suốt

THE SKY OF NON MEDITATION
Non meditation, also called familiarization with the natural state, is not a kind of meditation in the normal sense. This nonmeditation is not about the subject side or object side of an experience, but about the intrinsic quality of experience. Unlike any gradual method, non-meditation is beyond duality right at the start. It is the meditation at the level of the nature of mind, not concerned with anything at the level of mind. That's why it is called effortless because effort is always at the mind level.
When non-meditation happens, the meditator is like the sky of awareness and whatever happen in it is also of the nature of this sky of awareness, then there is no subject who is meditating and no object to meditated on.
Unlike other kind of meditations, the usual subject/object of experience, the apprehender and the apprehended, are not eliminated or changed, but left as they are, not trying to modify them in any way. But, all the time, they are both seen as empty, their empty and luminous nature is naturally evident. That's why nonmeditation is also called "Non-duality in the face of duality".
A special feature of nonmeditation is that, whatever happens is meditation. Like the images in a mirror cannot change the mirror, and they are also the mirror. In nonmeditation, activities like walking, talking or even discursive thoughts and raging emotions are not eliminated. They are left as they are, without a need to change them to have better meditation.
How do you know you are in the state of non-meditation?
By the way thoughts happen.
You may hear phrases like "Look directly at the thought and determine its nature" or "Look at the space between two thoughts". But all of them are not this nonmeditation, all of them are till at the level of thought. At the level of nonmeditation the word "look" become inappropriate. There is nothing to look at and there is no sense of looking. It is like the sky have no need to look at the sky.
Even when thoughts happen there is not a sense of thinking. In nonmeditation, thought is not experienced as thought in the usual way. Thought is experienced as non-arising, empty, transparently luminious, and inseparable with the space where it appears, like waves and the ocean. From the view point of the ocean, wave is the ocean and never really born, whether there are waves or not, the ocean is the same. Likewise, whether there is no thought or a myriad of thoughts, in both case, the sky of nonmeditation is the same.
So, how to become this sky of nonmeditation?
You cannot DO anything to become it. You just know you are already it and let it unfold naturally.
Know for yourself how your "me" and your "world" are just illusions, then "you" will end. The real you, the basic nature of phenomena will be revealed. You are already and forever That. When that knowledge is firmly established, you will have a super confidence that enlightenment is already here. With that confidence, just relax all your aims and BEING who you are, and let enlightenment unfold naturally.
Nonmeditation will begin as part of this unfolding of enlightenment.
Wish to see you there, beloved friends
Love you,
Trong Suốt

Beloved friends,
Following the question of Nikki Pallavi Hallur, and my answer below. I repost this one from March 10th with 5 steps on realizing the way of suchness and dualistic thinking. If you can understand it you will immediately cut the root of dualistic thinking and realizing awareness, your basic nature.
Nikki: Thank you Trong, but I don't understand this as there seem to be many "beings" totally relaxed and just being, but they are content without knowing themselves and they are enjoying the play of form like children. Are they enlightened or simply have good karma?
Trong Suốt: Dear Nikki,
I don't know the beings you said. Even if I know them I know them as display of my nature and not speculate about them. So, just check for yourself where these beings arise and abide? Except from your own thoughts, there are not "many beings", their inner states like "enjoying the play of form" is also your own imagination!
Beloved, don't try to understand those beings, only understand your mind and its nature.
By knowing your own mind's nature, all your sufferings are seen as fictional and will be self liberated. You will also liberate those beings by realize them as fictional projections. From beginning to end, there is not any beings exist, even you, your "me" is also a projection coming from the true You, the Buddha Nature within.
You can start by reading my post on March 10th to see how the projection occurred, by knowing the way the false happens the true will automatically revealed.
5 steps on realizing the way of suchness and dualistic thinking:
- Pure Being, Suchness: this is like space, the abode where everything arise, it is beyond thoughts but can be experienced as the awareness-clarity-emptiness aspect in every experience. This basic space sometimes called Buddha Nature and sometimes called "your original face", but interestingly, there is no "you" there.
- Projection: From this basic space, colors, sound, smell, thoughts, etc. are projected based on karmic tendency. At this state there still no separation between color and sound and thought, etc. People usually call this as an "experience"
- Objectification: inherent Identity is imagined in thoughts based on that experience, subject & object come to appear. The sense of: "I" experiencing "others", is created in this step.
- Classification: Thoughts further categorize those subject/object and naming them, objects now have names and categorized as table, human, horse, etc.
- Solidification: Forget/unaware of step 2,3,4. forget that "me" and those "objects" are just projected by thoughts and Believe that they have inherent existence.
If you understand this, you are not entangled by subject and object, not believe in a "me" and "substance" anymore. "Without distinguishing subject and object, wisdom is there. This is the wisdom without object or subject, without substance." With this wisdom, even without trying, you will enter meditationless meditation, where there is nothing to meditate on and nowhere to reach to. Even living in the world, you will not involve in any action or thoughts anymore. Your "me" will also dissolve and you will be one with the sky of Great Perfection, where everything unfold by themself as the creative radiant of enlightenment.
Love you,
Trong Suốt
