 since you've forced me to upgrade from 7.4x and from 7.3x i've been having a lot of issues with your latest, crappy version of skype: 8.xx.

 creating conversations / group chats
  so, whenever i create new group chats, everyone in the gc are administrators. like everyone can do anything they want to do with the gc unlike before where the admin is the only one capable of doing those right? well IT SUCKS.

 conversation lists
  the old version 7.xx of skype, the developers at that time already did a very good job of disabling notifications for lesser important conversations. the conversations are greyed out, there's a subtle message counter in orange circle. the conversations in the left-hand side are sorted the way i want them to be sorted. newer messages that arrive in muted conversations don't move up/down the conversation list in an animated fashion... JUST THE WAY I WANT IT... the new version of skype? well, it violated all of those --- the conversation gets re-ordered with an animation that is typically useless and i don't need it i'm pretty sure it eats up CPU whenever it animates, the conversation name is bolded in my conversation list like WTF? i muted it for crying out loud and yet YOU BOLD IT? seriously?

 notifications
  the very subtle orange bouncing bubble whenever a message arrives, that orange bubble is in my taskbar and it's bouncy and its cute. i could also choose which types of bubbles appear whenever a message arrives or a file gets sent to me or a new person comes online AND all of it is configurable the way i want IT... well, you replaced it all with a tiny red dot, i could stay in my pc for hours and not notice a new message has arrived if i disabled your message bubbles appearing like pieces of CRAP in my screen if i have a lot of conversations on-going... i have like 10-15 very active conversations and all of them get messages in a minute so imagine if i don't disable message bubbles - put yourself in my position will you? bottom-line: 8.xx IS CRAP

  oh yes, i just copy a chunk of text in my skype chat and then paste them to wherever conversation i want and it's quoted the way i want it to be. heck, i could even quote several text excerpts and put at most 3 quoted conversations just to make a point to the people i am talking to. well, in skype 8.xx you destroyed the piece of crap, SHARE Message? like really? are you trying to be facebook or instagram or something??? you are SKYPE!

 conversations part 2
  there are times also where i want to copy the entire message thread and paste them in a text file somewhere and the conversation is formatted the way i want it to be ie., with timestamps next to the name as well as full-urls of links in the conversation. well, in skipe 8.xx, YOU RUINED IT, the message formatting are in chaos!

 privacy
  gone are the days where i can hide the fact that i am typing a message - it makes me feel comfortable composing my message and it lets me take my time composing the message. right now i am forced to type as fast as i can because the person at the end of the line is waiting for my message because they know that I AM TYPING! like what gives??? skype has become a speed-typing contest software all of a sudden! skype has just been added to the list of "what ever the crap causes me stress through the day"

 configurability
  7.xx advantages - i can change the font, i can change the font-size, i can change if there are pictures in the conversation list or not, i can resize the conversation list and show timestamps on the sides instead of on-top or bottom. the ui we're all familiar with, the cool blue window that can be separated into: conversation list and conversation boxes 
  8.xx advantages - NONE, well yeah it's slower, but no, not an advantage, NOPE - ui is crappy too.

  7.xx had the best UI
  8.xx had the worst UI

 speed
  7.xx was really fast, loads less than a second
  8.xx IS really slow, i have to wait a few seconds before the entire app gets loaded

 why use skype?
  because skype was awesome at one time (not too long ago, but it all turned turd when 8.xx was forced and shoved up our faces). work requires us to use skype. i am one of the evangelists asking if we can change to a different, more usable skype 7.xx platform. but if i had to choose? i'd drop skype 8.xx altogether. it sucks
