what is this link about? well, i want to visit new zealand because i miss garrett street, eda, and enspiral. i also want half-price sushi, and pies, and i want to go to kiwiburn.
i have a few questions about visiting new zealand, and contracting while i'm there.
i'm thinking that the whole of enspiral may be able to help me answer these questions.
- i'm currently working on a contract with craftworks remotely from the US (my home country). The client is a company based in the US.
- i'm currently invoicing enspiral services, with the $$$ being deposited into my US account.
- i'd like to visit NZ from December 30th, 2015 to February 8th, 2016.
- during that visit, i would need to continue working on the above contract, 20hrs/week.
- i was recently in NZ from October 17, 2014 to August 26th, 2015 on a year-long working holiday visa.
- the US is on NZ immigration's 'visa-waiver' list
on page 3 of the NZ visitor visa guide it says:
"If you want to work, or study for longer than three months, in New Zealand you will have to apply for a work visa or a student visa."
is this implying that i'm allowed to continue working on that contract as a 'visa-free' visitor in NZ as long as i'm not here for more than 3 months? or do i need a work visa?
NZ immigration website says:
"If you are a visa-free visitor, you apply for entry at the border by filling in your arrival card. You will be allowed to stay for three months (or six months if from the United Kingdom) on this visit, and no more than six months in any 12-month period."
i'm wondering - are they also counting my time in NZ under my previous working holiday visa? or are they only counting the amount of time that i've spent there as a 'visitor'?
