From our experience, people who are engaged, passionate, and happy enlighten us with the quality of their efforts. We know that given the tools, people, and information needed to do great work, along with a tight feedback loop, amazing things are possible. It is because of this that we believe in nuturing great people, setting them up to achieve their goals, and getting out of their way.
True wealth is being surrounded by people who are fully actualized, passionate, and who make the choice to show up everyday out of love for what they are doing and an affinity for the people they are doing it with. We know the best way to achieve this is to invest in each other, and trust in the long term value of doing so.
Research is extremely important to building successful products which allow users to accomplish their goals with the simplest and most pleasurable experience. We like to arrive at the best possible interface or design by failing fast using prototypes with live users in a simulated environment. This greatly decreases the time spent developing and redeveloping products which are not quite right, and increases the chance that the initial release of a product will be a success.
Architects.io is founded by a collective of creative design and development professionals. We are all practicioners of our respective crafts and firmly believe that the best way to ship products is to constantly be in the zone and in a state of creative flow. We design our physical space, and structure everything we do as an organization, around our understanding of the science which says that happiness and peace are essential to great work.
We set out to make just enough money to never be anxious about finances, and strive to stay motivated through a culture focused on creative autonomy, meaningful and challenging work, a strong belief in the mission of our clients, and constant mastery and improvement of our craft.
We have a unique approach to building products which is based on the use of highly polished components and templating. This prevents us from reinventing the wheel, and increases the odds that the work we do will always remain interesting and engaging.
This practice allows us to accelerate through the phases of product development which are not unique to the vision and goals of the product we are focusing on, which reduces costs and the time it takes to release a minimum viable product.
At Architects.io, everyone is paid above market salary for their positions, and we have an innovative system of structuring our projects so that everyone who participates in the project has an opportunity to share in the profit with the company.
We operate very similarly to how a law firm operates in terms of equity, allowing others the opportunity to become a partner and share in the growth and success of the organization.
We believe that pride in ownership is a great predictor of success.
As former employees at one time or another, we all recognize the value of being able to commoditize things other than our time. The option to derive recurring value from our work is very attractive, and that is why one day every week at Architects.io we focus on an internal company project that produces royalties equally for everyone who contributes time and effort on the project.
These internal projects give each of us opportunities to experiment, try on other hats, practice our skills, test new theories, away from the pressures of day to day business. Hopefully, they provide a modest stream of revenue as well.
At Architects.io, everyone is empowered to always be sharpening their skills and growing as individuals. We each declare a personal and professional goal for ourselves on a bulletin board in our office, and we pair ourselves up with coaches who keep us motivated on our path to success.
As a company we go out of our way to ensure that everyone has the resources they need to succeed, from having access to mentors, to educational materials, to having budgets for professional conferences.
We also routinely host community meetups and events with other artists and craftspeople in our industry.
We believe that the best way to learn anything at the level of an artist is to master the ability to teach it, and this is why every partner in our firm selects two apprentices per year. The apprentice gets to practice skills in the heat of battle under the mentorship of an experience veteran, and eventually goes on to teach apprentices of her own.
