How to: Upgrade PHP on Vargant Ubuntu 12.04 LTS from 5.3 to 5.5

Login to your Vagrant:

vagrant ssh
sudo su

Then:

  • Step 1: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install python-software-properties

  • Step 2: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ondrej/php5

  • Step 3: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

  • Step 5: sudo service apache2 restart
