Subject: Libretto - Lyric Finder Unlicensed Lyrics App
To Whom It May Concern:
Sony/ATV Music Publishing (“SATV”) is one of the world’s largest music publishers which owns and controls
hundreds of thousands of copyrights including songs made famous by such superstar artists as The Beatles,
Lady Gaga, Colbie Caillat, the Jonas Brothers, Brooks & Dunn, Leonard Cohen, Neil Diamond, Fall Out Boy,
John Mayer, Joni Mitchell, Willie Nelson, Taylor Swift, Linda Perry, Flo Rida, Shakira, Akon, Wyclef Jean
and Sara Bareilles, among many others.
It has recently come to our attention that you are distributing an application called Libretto – Lyric Finder
(the “App”) via the iTunes app store which allows users to search for and view the lyrics of over 600,000 songs
through its use of the Lyricfly.com database. Please be advised that Lyricfly.com is unlicensed by SATV.
Consequently the distribution of your App constitutes an infringement of literally thousands of SATV’s copyrights.
Demand is hereby made that you immediately remove the App from the App Store and make no further use of SATV's songs.
Failure to immediately comply with the foregoing shall result in SATV purusing any and all remedies available to
it under law including, without limitation, litigation.
The foregoing shall not be deemed to limit or prejudice Sony/ATV’s rights, all of which are specifically reserved.
Sincerely,
Sean Melia | Senior Director, Business Affairs & Licensing
